Description
First Alert Replacement Hardwired Smoke Alarm (Model SA9120B) is 120V AC powered alarm with 9V battery backup in the event of power failure. The alarm can be interconnected with up to 12 other compatible smoke alarms and six compatible devices such as bells and horns. Features a universal mounting bracket and tamper-proof locking pins, plus adapter plugs to replace other non-First Alert alarms without rewiring. Alarm includes a loud, 85dB siren and single button test/silence. Meets UL217 standard and backed by 10 year limited warranty.

Didn't last a full year
Worked great for the first 11 months then started going off non stop. Changed the battery, vaccumed it, blew it out with compressed air, and it still keeps going off. We ended up replacing with a different brand. We have a bunch of wireless ones from them with no issues but this hardwired one just didn't last.

Too complicated
Stupid and overly complicated. I just want an alarm with a battery, can't seem to find one of those at target. I couldn't even set it up, too many wires and poorly written instructions. I don't get the reviews that said this was easy. such a waste of money.

Stay away!
Can’t tell you how many times it has woke me up in the middle of the night to false alarms. It reached its last alarm when it went off at 4 am after a very long day, I have 4 more of these (older model) in my home, they are fine the new ones are not! Avoid at all cost unless you like getting woken up in the middle of the night to a false alarm.

Safety and Peace of Mind for my family
I was invited to join a First Alert Campaign in which I was sent a complimentary set of 6 Smoke Alarms through Smiley360. These Smoke Alarms are hard-wired, with a 9 Volt battery backup. Installation is simple. The alarm is attached to the electrical wiring in a home where a junction box is located. Once attached to the wiring, a plastic sleeve is to be removed that allows the 9 volt battery to come into contact with the positive and negative posts. If the battery is removed, a beep will sound and beep and beep until the battery is put back in, or it needs replaced due to having a dead battery. I love this because I know most people forget to change their battery routinely and it reminds them to replace the battery.
