As I have seen other reviews, I purchased this for my 9-year-old grandson. The tracker works fine, but the band broke only after 2-3 months. The tracker was also falling out of the bottom portion of the band. I think that Fitbit needs to redesign a band that works for children. I can't purchase a band replacement since no retailers are currently selling and even so, it's $24, a bit pricey for a replacement part and one that is of such poor quality. If I had known this, I would not have purchased. We tired purchasing a thrid-party replacement band and it too has failed since it's just a cheaper version of what was already a poor design.
Beyond angry! Got this for my son for his 9th birthday. He loved it. He would not take it off, except to charge it. He came home from school (2 weeks after receiving) and I asked him where it was. He checked his wrist (I had seen it was not on) and he looked puzzled. It fell off. We have tried to locate to no avail. After reading reviews on several sights I have discovered this is a common thing. The bands apparently break easy and they fall off. I would never purchase again! That’s a lot of money just thrown away. I wish we could locate so we could return. Unfortunately that will not happen so I’m out nearly $80. My son is not one to fidget and play around with it. He wore at as it should have been and it came off. You would think a product made for kids would be more durable. Under regular use it doesn’t even last. Sad.
Purchased 2 for each of my daughters less than a month ago. One of them is working just fine with no issues; the other stopped syncing a couple weeks ago. I have been going back and forth with Fitbit support for over a week and was eventually told today that this is a 'known issue' and they're working on it but have no timing for resolution. Just being told to wait with a non-working less than a month old device is not good enough. Returning and moving on to another brand!
My 9 year old picked this one out and my son picked the garmin vívofit jr2. She is regretting her decision. She does not like that it doesn’t pick up her active minutes on runs unless it’s manually entered. After using my versa for a few days she liked that it showed her the distance ran and mapped it out. On the garmin I can add chore reminders as well that allow them to earn tokens. The tokens then can be traded in for rewards. Wish that the fit bit had something similar within the app and the ability to set task reminders. Overall it’s lacking with its very limited features and dull app. The only thing she likes about the watch is the look of it.
