Q: is it compatible with an iphone ios 12

submitted by laxdennis - 12 days ago
  • A: Hey there, laxdennis. The Inspire 3 needs the Fitibt app which does require iOS 16.4 or higher. Here’s a link with more details: https://support.google.com/product-documentation/answer/14226283

  • A: Hi, thanks for reaching out about Fitbit Inspire 3 Activity Tracker. To answer your question directly: No, the Fitbit Inspire 3 is not compatible with an iPhone running iOS 12. As of early 2026, Fitbit (now owned by Google) has significantly increased its software requirements. The Fitbit app now requires a much newer version of Apple's operating system to function, sync data, and set up new devices. If you have any additional questions, we welcome you to contact MyTGTtech at 833-848-8324 every day, between 7am-11pm CST.

Q: Do you have to have a membership to use the watch?

submitted by Tedwards - 13 days ago
  • A: Great question, Tedwards. No, you don’t need to subscribe to Fitbit Premium on the Inspire 3 to get a lot of great features like tracking steps, sleep, calories burned, and more. If you're looking for advanced insights, personalized recommendations, and energizing workouts, the subscription might be worth considering. Check out this guide for more information: https://support.google.com/fitbit/answer/14237941

  • A: Hi, thanks for reaching out about Fitbit Inspire 3 Activity Tracker No, a paid membership isn't required to use the Fitbit Inspire 3, as basic tracking like steps, heart rate, and sleep stages works with the free Fitbit app, but buying the tracker typically includes a 6-month free trial of Fitbit Premium, which unlocks advanced features like daily readiness scores, detailed sleep analysis, guided exercises, and stress management tools. You can continue basic tracking after the trial, but many of the Inspire 3's more insightful features are behind the Premium subscription. If you have any additional questions, we welcome you to contact MyTGTtech at 833-848-8324 every day, between 7am-11pm CST.

Q: can i wear the fit bit on my ankle and get the same results as wearing it on the wrist?

submitted by Sheila - 21 days ago
  • A: Hi there, Sheila. The Inspire 3 is designed and calibrated to work either on your wrist or clipped onto your body. Here’s more information on how to wear the device: https://support.google.com/fitbit/answer/14237222?

  • A: Hi, thanks for reaching out about Fitbit Inspire 3 Activity Tracker. While you can physically wear the Fitbit Inspire 3 on your ankle, you will not necessarily get the "same" results as wearing it on your wrist. Because the device's algorithms are calibrated for arm swing, changing its location affects how it interprets your movement. • A: Hey there, Penny mom. The Inspire 3 is water-resistant up to 50 meters. It’s designed to be swimproof and stand up to even the sweatiest of workouts. However, when you’re swimming, the watch will not track your steps but rather your laps. It will also allow you to receive your messages. • A: Hi, thanks for reaching out about Fitbit Inspire 3 Activity Tracker The Fitbit Inspire 3 is designed for water use, but there are a few specific details about how it tracks activity in the water and handles messages. The Inspire 3 is water-resistant up to 50 meters (164 feet), making it safe for swimming in a pool, showering, rain, etc but is not made for things like High-velocity water sports (like water skiing) or scuba diving. it does not track "steps" while you are swimming. Instead, it tracks your activity as a Swim Workout, which does the following: ⦁ Lap Counting: It tracks your lengths, distance, and duration. ⦁ Daily Goals: While you won't see your step count go up during a swim, the calories burned and "Active Zone Minutes" will still count toward your daily fitness goals. ⦁ Water Lock: When you start a swim workout, the "Water Lock" feature turns on automatically. This prevents the water from accidentally "tapping" the screen and stopping your workout. If you have any additional questions, we welcome you to contact MyTGTtech at 833-848-8324 every day, between 7am-11pm CST.

lower quality than past versions

I've owned two Fitbits before this Fitbit, and wow, can I say they downgraded the quality on the band and connectors? compared to the Fitbit luxe, this is a serious step down. It feels way cheaper. Unfortunately, they don't make the luxe anymore. After this purchase, this is the last Fitbit I'm buying. Whatever they did when they changed ownership or what not, the choices they made were downgrades. I bought a Fitbit because I liked how it was and I liked how it felt like good quality product, and I could buy bands to dress it up. This feels like a plastic band with a plastic clasp with attachment pieces that are more difficult to use. What a shame. Moving on to a Google watch next because I won't buy this again.

Sadly, mine didnt last a year

I really loved this when I first got it, but to get the full benefits you have to pay for an annual subscription. By the time the choice to renew came for my second year, my watch had stopped working reliably. It stopped giving me notifications and syncing to my phone. It also is considered an older model so bug glitches aren’t fixed. My favorite screen style had a bug that made it not usable and wasn’t fixed for months— from early 2025 to when I’m writing this review in January 2026. Also, the options to swap out the watch band are limited because Fitbit considers this an older model unfortunately, and off-brand sellers are limited and not reliable. It had a lot of potential but after almost a year I had to stop using mine. :(

Target sold open box item with missing piece

After getting item from drive up, it was clear the box had been opened and returned before. I wouldn't have minded except the strap was missing the little piece that holds it down while wearing the watch. Getting another one shipped, hopefully it's in good shape or I'll have to return both. After looking at other reviews, seems many others have arrived in bad condition so fingers crossed. If Target wants to sell this particular item again, maybe it should be at a discount since the customer would need to buy a replacement strap.

Do not recommend

Whoever designed the clasps of attaching the straps on and off the device must have had long nails, a magnifying glass, and small fingers. It is terrible trying to twist the tiny less than 1 mm ball on each strap to disconnect it and then trying to get them back on where you squeeze, push, and connect just right is even more maddening. If you have arthritis, older, don’t have long nails, or need glasses to see, I recommend going with a different manufacturer as it seems all the newer fitbit models have this clasp setup. I have owned Fitbits for several years and I was unable to switch out the straps on this newer model so completely unusable.

Best slim tracker for small wrist

This is my third fitbit. Had garmin in between, but i can't get over how big they are. I started wearing this one on my inner wrist and that has been a gamechanger. It detects my heartrate much better and I can wear it all day and night. Also, it counts the miles ran on the treadmill more precise than Garmin, which is because I do run/walk/run probablly. The only thing I miss from my previous Fitbit Luxe is the magnetic charger. Inspire 3 has a clip type charget which is kind of strange - hopefully the snaps won't break in the coming years. This is the best small tracker if you like slim design and I'm very happy I got this during Black Friday :)

Honest review after using Fitbit for a little over 7 years and wearing this most recent purchase for about a year and a half: Syncing is a hige issue - I make sure that we have a strong connection to WiFi, and bluetooth isn't connected to anything else - however, I have tried to synonmously sync by keeping the app running in the background, location services is always on, and still, syncing is still an issue, so I cannot see sleep, readiness level, text messages, calls, and steps most of the time (90% syncing issues). Counting steps: I know this one is an ambiguous part of the review, so take this one with a grain of salt. On days where I run roughly 3 miles, equates to the same steps as off days, which confuses me. So, unfortunately, the Fitbit cannot accurately determine how many steps are taken, so I never really use the steps as a form of activity with my workouts. Workout detection mode on Fitbit: As soon as my heart rate drops below 110 bpm, this watch will automatically turn off "Zone Minutes", which is extremely annoying. Whenever I take a 30-60 second break between weight sets, Fitbit automatically assumes that I am finished with the workout. While it is in "Zone Minutes" mode, I cannot use any other services on the watch like timers, countdowns, or check bpm. Battery life: Only thing that is good about this watch - the battery life is about a week, and charging takes 1 hour to fully charge. Comfort: Pinches the skin, but they provide two bands; smaller and larger sizes. Honest review: Unfortunately, Fitbit has not changed much in their newer versions of activity trackers, and as someone who has used Fitbit because of the price, you truly get what you pay for. I would honestly save the money and get yourself a Garmin - it is pricey, but I wish I would have done that instead and not paid the $100 for this "activity tracker".

Doesn't synch to phone. Useless.

I've been a fitbit user for years and loved the Inspire, but it's become completely useless. I recently converted my Fitbit account to Google & as soon as I did, my watch stopped syncing with my phone. Now I've got a fitness tracker that doesn't give me any data. Absolutely useless.

Loved it but it died after 3 months

Really liked it and wore it daily, I loved when it would tell me how many calories I burned during workouts and whether I’m in the fat burning zone or not. It helped me dial in exactly how many calories I should consume daily for weightloss goals. But after 3 months the battery went bad. It no longer charged when plugged in and remains depleted. Warranty is still active so they’re sending a replacement but I noticed the replacement is refurbished…. very odd considering.

Works, but issues with charging

Since day one, this fitbit has not been good at charging. I reached out to FitBit help and they just went through the "restart" and "clean the connectors". Which of course, was the first thing I did before I contacted them. They were no help, and recommened I return it to Target. It's unfortunate because when it did have a charge, it worked great.

Loop on band broke as I put watch on the first time

FitBit should be ashamed of the poor quality watch band! The band's loop broke as I was putting the watch on for the first time. I bought the watch today. Needless to say I returned it tonight for a refund. I don't plan to buy another FitBit. TARGET MARKETING STAFF: My displeasure is with FitBit, not Target. I ordered a Cubitt via your website tonight.

Disappointed with how easily the display goes off of auto wake, and how unresponsive it is when I try to wake it. Graph doesn’t match the data, even when displayed next to one another on the app. Otherwise it’s a good tool for tracking activity and time.

Broke within the year

The plastic siding has snapped on the Fitbit itself. It no longer holds the band. This item was expensive for it to break in such a silly way. This break has made the product useless. Received in December only tk have it snap in July.

Waste of money!

Waste of money… only had for a few months and is no longer supported due to my use of a google workspace account. Very disappointed with product/company. Wish it was possible to give 0 star review

Hi there, H2oson. Sorry to hear the Inspire 3 may not have been the best fit for you. While you can’t use a Google Workspace account to transfer your Fitbit account, you can use a different Google account or create a new one. This product does not accurately track heart rate

I bought this to replace my Inspire 2. With it, hard work and a better diet, I lost over 60 lbs. I lost my Inspire 2 at a music fesitval. The strap that secures the band broke, and it fell off. Now when I'm taking a 2 mile walk in the park and check my stats, they're almost nonexistent. The heart rate monitor is often just black. Restarting will help for minutes only. It'll send me news updates I don't want but won't work for it's intended purpose. After mine disappointed me, I went to Fitbit for help and found I wasn't alone. See their reviews. Not good.

Hey there, Thia. Sorry to see you’re having trouble with getting consistent heart-rate on the Inspire 3 — we get this is frustrating. Here’s a couple of tips to resolve this issue: 1. Tighten the band so that it doesn’t slip on your wrist. 2. Heart-rate tracking may not work with certain accessory bands, especially if they’re loose fitting. For best results, use the band that came with your device. 3. Use the Exercise app to record GPS data for your workout. We’d be happy to investigate further if these steps don’t solve your concerns: https://support.google.com/fitbit/gethelp?hl=en

Scratches Easily

I'm very disappointed by the quality of the new Google Fitbits. I've worn this for 13 days and it's already scratched in several places. I wore my Fitbit Luxe for 5 years and it never had a single scratch. Granted it was cheaper, but it was still $80. I feel ripped off, I think I will return it.

DO NOT PURCHASE!

Terrible! Does not track properly. 9,000 today but only shows about 3,000 if you reference by hour in the day. Makes no sense. Does not track the 250 steps per hour properly either. Disappointing!

Hey there, LW. Sorry to learn you’ve had problems with inaccurate steps on the Inspire 3. You may need to check wrist placement and height settings. Accurate height helps estimate stride lengths — consider manually adjusting your stride lengths for better accuracy, especially since leg length varies. For more information, here’s an article: https://support.google.com/fitbit/answer/14236920?hl=en#zippy=
