  • A: Yes, mine did. I bought a brand new Luxe a couple weeks ago, and the (very short cord) charger they provided only has a USB plug on the end. So you can't plug it into the wall. Not recommended.

Q: Is there a simple way to figure out the calories burned for a one hour aerobics class at my health club? Like a start and stop feature for a designated period of time?

submitted by calculate calories burned - 10 months ago
  • A: Yes! There is workout tracking on the device. You can start the workout from your wrist and see your stats for that time period in real time. Then after the workout it will sync to the mobile application and you can see the resume of all your workouts there. It's as easy as swiping over to the workout section, finding the workout you want to start, and then hitting start.

submitted byFitbit Product Expert - 10 months ago
    Brand expert
  • A: A simple way? Yes. An accurate way? Not a chance! I've been using my new Fitbit Luxe for about a week, the 'calories burned' feature is so wildly inaccurate, not even in the BALLPARK of being correct.

Screen stopped working after a month

Very disappointed as this was my birthday gift from my husband. I have a few chronic health conditions and was looking forward to utilizing this watch and all of the features and benefits on my healthy journey. The screen stopped working and it’s past the return window now I have a useless watch and a premium membership for fitbit that I paid for and haven’t been able to use. Waste of money all around. I’m saddened because I really loved the sleek design and lightweight feel of this watch. Deep sigh.

Hi, Jleigh50. We're sorry to hear that your Luxe's display has stopped working. If you haven't tried yet, restarting the tracker may resolve the issue: 1. Connect your device to the charging cable. 2. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times, pausing for 1 second between presses. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears. If the issue persists, please contact us via our help page so we can help you in finding a better resolution.

The screen started flickering, and after a week, it was dead. The company replaced it, but the process was complicated and lengthy. The features are great and it looks nice. however, you might want to opt for something that will last longer. Overall I do not recommend it.

I've had this for a few months now and feel like I can give a real review. I love that this is small and sleek. I just don't see the appeal of the super fancy ones that can do 1,000 things. I just need it to keep track of steps, which it does so well. I need to charge it about every 5 days, which I love. Honestly, very happy with this tracker. Perfect for anyone who needs a simpler tracker.

It worked as expected for 13 months and I was generally pleased with it. But almost immediately after its one-year warranty expired, the screen on the wristband unit went black. It still recorded steps, synched, etc., but couldn't display anything on its screen. FitBit customer service made little attempt to make things right except to offer a 35% discount if I ordered a new one within 30 days. So obviously long life is not a feature of this model.

Worst Fitbit Yet

I have been using Fitbit products for over a decade and the quality of these products have gone downhill. The Luxe has a great look but my biggest issue with it is that it doesn't track heart rate accurately. Particularly when I am in an exercise mode, I will notice an inaccurate heart rate reading. I will be doing yin yoga and my Fitbit will clock me in cardio! I have contacted customer service and they have no viable solutions. The Luxe is clearly just a bum product. I don't think I will purchase another Fitbit after this one - I would rather spend my money on a reliable and accurate product.

I owned an Alta HR since 2015 and had no problems until it died a few weeks ago. I ordered the Luxe because it was similar in style and not too complicated. the setup was easy and now I am back to tracking my steps and other health markers as I wish. it has a white band with gold trim in watch - very prettt and practical. I hope it lasts as long as the Alta!

Despite taking precautions to keep my fitbit clean and dry, the display started to fizzle out within about two months, and is now completely broken. I tried resetting it, letting it die and recharging it, etc., to no avail. Because I passed the return window, I'm stuck with it. Would not buy it again, or at least not from Target.

Alarms break the motor

2 out of 5 stars
Would not recommend
Kejeki - 6 months ago, Verified purchaser
It was wonderful until it stopped working. I had this product for about a year and a half before it stopped working, and my daughter had one for several months. We've narrowed the breaking down to using alarms. Mine worked perfectly though daily wear, swimming, exercising, etc. until I set a daily alarm to replace one on my phone. Suddenly I started having battery issues. At first it would simply use a lot of battery each day and I realized the timing so I turned off the alarm, but the damage was done. It started dying anytime I met my step goal because it vibrated. It would get half way though the vibration notification and go dead. But when I plugged it in, it still showed high battery life, it just wouldn't wake the screen or count steps or anything until I plugged it in again. Then it started "dying" half way through the day but plugging it in it shows at least 60% battery. It's unusable now because it "dies"and doesn't count steps or display the watch even when charged. My daughter used her Fitbit for alarms from the very beginning. She didn't have any battery issues, but she was missing alarms. We set several test alarms and none of them went off. We came to the conclusion that you just can't use this Fitbit with alarms because it ruins the motor and then the Fitbit altogether.
