Book Synopsis
Welcome to the flock. The flock has been the flock since the beginning of time. Or since 1986. Or since last Tuesday. Whichever came first.
The flock is always right and true. And true and right. Do not question the flock.
You are happy in the flock. When a new sheep joins the flock, she realizes that home can be warm and safe and good.
But what happens when she decides to leave? From Chren Byng and bestselling illustrator of Dr. Seuss's Horse Museum and The Pink Hat, Andrew Joyner, comes a hilariously subversive tale about bravery, independence, and that first bold step away from the crowd.
About the Author
Chren Byng was born in Richmond, Virginia, but soon moved to her mother's homeland, Australia, where she grew up by the beach. Chren's career in books began over 20 years ago, as a bookseller, and she has worked in publishing since 2005. In her day job as a children's book publisher, Chren has edited and published award-winning and bestselling books from many of Australia's most-loved authors and illustrators. She aspires to have one-tenth of their talent. Chren lives in Australia on the unceded lands of the Cammeraygal people, with her partner and their young children. Andrew Joyner is an award-winning Australian illustrator and cartoonist. His first book, The Terrible Plop, written by Australian children's laureate Ursula Dubosarsky, was shortlisted in the Children's Book Council of Australia's Book of the Year Awards and the Prime Minister's Literary Awards. Since then Andrew has illustrated dozens of children's books, including The Pink Hat and #1 New York Times bestseller Dr. Seuss's Horse Museum. His books have been published in more than 25 countries around the world. Andrew lives in South Australia, with his family and nineteen pets.Dimensions (Overall): 9.7 Inches (H) x 9.7 Inches (W) x .4 Inches (D)
