  • A: Thanks for your question, Sharon. We use ethyl acetate direct process. In the ethyl acetate process, we begin by steaming the beans, which draws the caffeine to the surface; ethyl acetate is then added to the beans to extract the caffeine. After the caffeine is removed, we steam the beans again, and then we’re ready for roasting.

For the first time I brewed it using a French press. It’s very much dark in color. The flavor is bold and it’s very smooth with no acidity. I added a little sugar to boost the flavor. It tasted very good!

    Folgers Black Silk coffee lover

    I've been drinking and enjoying Folgers Black Silk coffee since I was diagnosed with Lymphocytic Colitis 7 years ago. I need coffee in the morning, and I searched online for the best coffee for my special diet and was fortunate to find an IBD forum which, where, many members posted, that Folgers Black Silk coffee was the only coffee they could drink without suffering. Love it!

    Changed formula

    I just purchased the newer can and I can tell you it's not the same. The grinds are larger and looks like it's mixed with a browser bean. Taste like garbage now.

    Folgers Columbian
