  • A: Folgers with the light green label is decaf. They also have a half-caf one.

submitted byGabby - 1 year ago
  • A: You need to select “classic decaf” to get info about the decaf. If you selected “black silk” it does not say decaf and it is not decaf.

Q: Arabica coffee beans?

submitted by jgwm - 4 years ago
  • A: Thanks for your question. Our Colombian Coffee is made of 100% Arabica coffee beans sourced from Colombia.

  • A: NO. According to Folger's, "Classic" is a combination of arabica and robusta. The "classic" beans come from various countries. The OP asked the question on a page for Folgers "Classic" NOT Colombian.

Q: For coffee drinkers with Gastritis, GERD, acid issues etc, has this decaf coffee been alright with your stomach?

submitted by emmy - 8 years ago
  • A: Coffee is coffee and it isn't going to make any difference with your GERD whether you drink regular or decaf it's going to have the same affect on your gut. I suggest just lower the amount you drink.

  • A: Great question! Yes, this coffee is meant to be brewed with a coffee filter.

Q: What process is used to decaffeinate this coffee? Is it organic/water based? Or are chemicals used?

submitted by Sharon - 5 years ago
  • A: Thanks for your question, Sharon. We use ethyl acetate direct process. In the ethyl acetate process, we begin by steaming the beans, which draws the caffeine to the surface; ethyl acetate is then added to the beans to extract the caffeine. After the caffeine is removed, we steam the beans again, and then we’re ready for roasting.

    Black silk falling behind

Let me open with I love Folgers coffee. I also love other coffees of the same caliber. Black silk was my choice. Recently, I’ve noticed a change in the flavour. It’s not as bold, robust, and , and at the same time, smooth as it once was. It’s taste rather watered down, not as rich in depth as it once was. I lean. towards dark roasts, bold and rich in depth. I hope this is only a temporary situation. Thank you. Regards, jimmiec

    Exceptional Flavor....!

Absolutely delicious! This coffee has a full-bodied flavor, is smooth and not at all acidic. The aroma is exquisite, and it reminds me of being on my friends coffee farm in Armenia, Colombia. Sometimes I just open the lid so that I can get a whiff of the rich, pleasant aroma of this coffee.....ahhhhh!

    Mismarketing representation

How JM Smuckers thought they could slide in a cheap mixed coffee and call it Colombian is beyond me. That's why they took off the 100% Colombian because they're mixing cheap beans with some kind of filler. There is no aroma when releasing the air lid and right after I drank it I got a headache. JM Smuckers are mixing it with something that is either toxic to us and it is definitely not quality coffee. I will never buy Folgers coffee again I'm 61 and been buying it for 40 years, I'm done. People don't waste your money on this coffee any longer it's absolutely horrible. Whoever thought of the idea of switching it should not have been promoted, they should have been terminated they are going to cost this company in the long run a lot of money.

    Bitter taste of Columbian coffee

The coffee is now very bitter and not the same as before. We have been loyal drinkers of folgers Columbian coffee for many many years. We are now looking for another brand that values their users opinions . The prices have increased substantially and the flavor and taste have plummeted. I would never recommend this Columbian coffee to anyone

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Folgers ground coffee – the good stuff: • smooth, easy drinking flavor that’s not overpowering • consistently reliable from cup to cup • widely available and budget friendly • classic aroma that feels like a cozy morning ritual • quick and simple to brew and almost any coffee maker • a familiar taste that hits the spot every time Part of my daily routine, because the best part of waking up is Folgers in your cup ☕️

    Miss the original Classic Roast

My husband and I have noticed a difference in our longtime favorite, Folgers Classic Roast coffee. At first we noticed a burnt smell, and it isn't as smooth either. I decided to google whether or not they had changed their formula. It appears they have not, but have changed their roasting process. We miss the old flavor and for the first time in decades, are trying other brands. We hope they will bring the original back.

    Great taste!

I normally am a self appointed 74 year old coffee snob and never had Folgers coffee until about 3 months ago at my sons house. It took me a half cup of this Columbian roast to learn that I really like it. I’m on my second tub of the Columbian coffee now. I also very recently discovered that I really like the Folgers “Gentle” decaf coffee in the afternoons when I cannot handle caffeine.

Tastes like ashes and mud now! Horrible!

What once was an amazingly beautiful flavor in your Black Silk coffee has now turned to an ashy disgusting muddled mess. I've been a Folgers girl on my life and drinking black silk since it came out. I will no longer be buying any of your products since they are twice the price for half amount of coffee and now tastes like crap.

    Weak Butt Coffee

Recently we have tolerated the downsized container, the increase in cost, but the taste is weak, last aroma, and is of no value. I will be returning the 3 cans I purchased and switch to a new brand. No more Folgers.

    A Favorite

Balanced flavor, just right for us. Quality at a reasonable price, available at our supermarket, at times on sale. We rotate between this, the Folger's Columbian, Peet's, and Starbucks. Generally we grind the beans, this one is conviniert and in the best of containers.
