This patio heater and sharp-looking cover are a welcome addition for our outdoor recreational needs. I had some questions about the patio heater, the vertical heat-focusing deflector shield, and the cover, which East Oak promptly responded to. Great value in terms of products and service.

After a bit of research, I decided to buy this patio heater. Our previous heater lasted for 10 years but was almost always a hassle to light, so my expectations were that, while this would be a new patio heater, I would have similar experiences with the ease (or lack of) in lighting it. First, it was fairly easy to assemble, although the package with the numbers bolts and screws didn't align with the numbered written instructions. Took a moment to realize that. Then, there was one bolt that was shorter than the rest so we weren't able to use it, so hoping that doesn't cause a long-term issue. Not a big deal. The packaging was simple so it was easy to identify parts as I pulled them from the shipping box. Second, it's a nice looking heater. And third, much to my amazement, it lit as soon as I pressed the igniter button and has done so every time we've used it in the past 2 weeks. So far, so good .... rather excellent!

This product was relatively easy to assemble with the exception of the plastic wrap on the top piece which was rather hard to remove. I have used this when it is cold out and it heats up spreading to a wide perimeter, was easy to ignite and it is quite stable where it stands. It is high enough so that little children cannot get to it in any way. I anticipate using it even in the dead of winter so this is very convenient and nice to have in a cold climate.

Love this patio heater, it is one of the better ones with added features and built better. The quality was so good I ended up purchasing two more so I could give them to my kids for Christmas. Plus I love that is has a table area to put your drinks on while sitting under it.

This will definitely come in handy during the cooler months. It did take some time to put together and get it all figured out. But in the end, it is a great buy, and it does cover a decent amount of space and the little counter that holds your stuff is a nice touch.

Update 2:Customer service contacted me back after my issues. I must say the service is outstanding 5/5.They also replaced the faulty unit AND mailed me weights (water or sand filled). The weights are ok; they don't seal 100%, which is only an issue when filed with water and when rolling it. 4/5Overall the units are good. The knob has not become a problem like I originally thought it might, but mine are still relatively new. The auto shut-off function on a couple (I have 3 units now) is quirky at times, but still works if you restart. 4/5All in all, I would buy again. And to me customer service is vitally important and that is where these guys have come through. They even sent me the 3rd unit for free since I had so many little issues.Overall I give them a 4.5/5 star at this point in time.Probably would have given this a higher rating but 2 things:1. the heater knob is so high up and close to the heating element that I am uncertain if it will hold up over time... it seems like it will heat and melt, but will see wait to see what will happen.2. Even worse is that it is super unstable and really that makes it unsafe.I purchased 2 of them so I am a little irritated. I need 2 more, but will prob get a different brand or something that wont blow over with just a moderate breeze.Update 1: star rating lowered to one star. I would have raised rating to 3 stars, because it actually held up ok to wind if you put a small weight on it. BUT then, one of the units stopped working 30 days after furst use. Have contacted Eastoak and will let you know after their reply. Have to lower to one star since one of these just doesn't work.

Typical propane patio heater. Uses a standard 20lb propane tank, lights easily, and does a nice job warming a patio area. My only nit is that the instructions don't indicate how much sand will fit into the "sand box", so it's hard to know how much to buy--without buying too much--to fill it. I ended up filling it with water (which is also an option, but not one you want to rely on in areas that have freezing temperatures, or the water will expand and split the box), but before long will measure the water in it to get the right amount of sand. Pro tip on assembly: remove the protective film from the heat spreader in a warm room: if the plastic is even a little cool (like outside on the patio and it's 50F, it'll be too brittle & tear rather than release easily from the metal. Get the pieces above 75F and the plastic will release fairly easily.

I've had this a year,the heater wouldn't stay lit,I called the number on the warranty card and they called me back the next day to run a quick checklist while they were on the phone, 6 days later I got the new burner assembly thru fed x...this company is solid and definitely stands behind their product,no problems whatsoever which is a rarity these days, FANTASTIC COMPANY!

This patio heater is truly close to perfect. The heat output is amazing, and I love how the design makes it stable even on windy days. All products occasionally will have a problem. The test of a great company and product is how the problem is addressed and corrected. East Oak excelled by responding quickly to an issue with their patio heater staying lighted, effectively trouble shooting a solution, and providing a no charge replacement part that was made as simple as possible to install. The heater is working as designed again.

Had an issue at first, but their support team was great in finding a solution to my issue. Go ahead and buy their product, they stand behind it with 3 years of warranty when you register it on their website. Super simple and easy to sign up. Did the job I wanted it to which was to heat a large screen in porch

Ignore below - this ended up working well after disconnecting and reconnecting the propane tank, and tightening it a little bit more then one would expect to have to. Overall, we've been pleasedI would have given this 4 stars, because it functions well and the reflector plate on the top is very efficient (I put my hand above it after it was on for 30 minutes and it was hardly even warm above it, which is great for having it on a covered patio). But I have to give it 2 stars because it leaks propane from the valve that connects to the tank. It's a tiny leak, enough to smell, but probably not enough to pose a risk (just a mediocre gasket, And I don't leave the gas tank on between using).

This patio heater is just what we needed for the winter. It radiates plenty of heat for our small patio, is easy to use, and is stable with the heavy water/sand filled base. It takes a standard 20lb propane tank; which is pretty common. Overall it's a great asset to have in the winter, and it'll add some aesthetics to your outdoor space.

Wow! That's all I can say for how amazing this patio heater has made sitting outside in this cold fall weather.I love being outside, I love nature, but I absolutely hate being cold. My wife and I enjoy sitting out on our back concrete patio and reading. The deer will even come in as we are sitting out there and graze in our backyard without a worry in the world that we are sitting there watching them. As the weather was starting to get colder and colder is getting difficult for me to sit out there. This heater has been absolutely amazing and has made it bearable for me to do so. It is incredibly well built, looks very nice with quality materials and workmanship, and came at a decent price. It works incredibly well, putting off a lot of heat and really making the outdoors tolerable this time of year. It has holes for easy access to the propane tanks so that you can turn the valve on and off, stands straight and tall and is not flimsy like I expected it would be. It is easy to use and ignite, has built-in safety features where you can add sand or water to the base to hold it upright and help prevent it from blowing over. I love everything about this and I'm really happy that I ordered it.One bit of advice, I wanted to put this together slow and leisurely as I was watching the news one evening. Since I was watching the news, I was kind of only half committed to putting this together, so it took a bit of time, probably a little over an hour. Again, it was very easy to assemble, I was just distracted while doing so. Anyways, I put it together in my living room while I was watching TV. It seemed like a good idea until I had to try and get it outside on the patio by myself. Definitely big and tall and large. Take my advice, don't assemble it inside. Do so outside wherever you plan to use it because it's very difficult to get it through doors and down the steps onto the patio if you're trying to do this by yourself. I'm not marking it down for that, that was my poor decision. This is a great heater and it definitely deserves a five star rating.

East Oak is a great company! I live in the plains and the wind blew over my heater several times before I even had a chance to use it. I reached out to East Oak to see if I could order a new deflector screen since mine was bent. The confirmed my purchase and sent me a new one for free. Mia was so helpful. I believe in customer service but must admit feel more often than not that it is dying. Not at this company! The more than exceeded my expectations. I can't say enough good about this company.

The heater itself works great and heats up a decent amount of space. The problem is that after the second time I used it the heat shield warped. Then when I added the heat reflector shield it really sags. The only reason I am giving this a 4 star instead of a 5 is because thicker metal could have been used to avoid this problem. Other than that it works great.

Love this product. Was affordable and it works great, allowing us to use our patio year round in NC. I bought two and one of them the top is crooked which isn't ideal, the other is fine.
