Book Synopsis
A savvy little girl explains how to survive a huge family party--especially the never-ending goodbye at the end--in this cheeky and charming picture book celebration of Middle Eastern culture. What happens when you're invited to a Middle Eastern party? A LOT! Which is why your good friend Salwa will show how to make the most of every minute and navigate those tricky parts, step by step, from the joyful Salam! when you arrive until the longest goodbye in the history of goodbyes when you're ready to leave.About the Author
Leila Boukarim was born in Lebanon, grew up in several countries, and now resides in Berlin. She has published a number of children's books internationally. Leila's stories are often influenced by her Middle Eastern upbringing, her observations as a citizen of the world, and the playfulness that arises from raising two young boys. In addition to writing and editing, Leila also spends her time reading, (proudly) hoarding books, embroidering, cooking, and trying to impress her cat. You can visit her at LeilaBoukarim.com. Afsaneh Sanei is an illustrator and a writer of children's books. She was born in 1985 in the colorful city of Isfahan in the central part of Iran. Afsaneh obtained her Bachelor of Painting at Tehran University in 2008 and completed her Master of Illustration at the Art University of Tehran in 2012. She believes a perfect picture book interacts emotionally with its audience, sparking reflection and curiosity. Growing up in a region with ancient and rich history, she has always aspired to apply her country's literary and pictorial heritage in her art, content, and style. You can find her work at AfsanehSanei.com.Dimensions (Overall): 11.0 Inches (H) x 9.13 Inches (W) x .13 Inches (D)
