Directions
Keep frozen until ready to prepare.
Steam Basket (preferred method)
1. Add about 2 inches of water to large pan. Add steam basket, making sure basket doesn’t touch water. Remove overwrap from dumplings and place tray* in steam basket. Heat water to boiling.
2. Cover, reduce heat to simmer and steam dumplings 8 to 10 minutes until hot throughout.
Be careful when eating – puncture a small hole to let steam out – hot liquid soup inside!
Microwave
1. Remove overwrap and place tray with 6 dumplings on microwave-safe plate. Cover with damp paper towel.
2. Microwave on HIGH for 1 ½ to 2 minutes until hot throughout. Let stand 1 minute.
Be careful when eating – puncture a small hole to let steam out – hot liquid soup inside!
*When steaming, a layer of parchment paper may be used in place of the plastic tray.
Appliances may vary; adjust cooking times accordingly. Refrigerate or discard leftovers immediately.

These pork dumplings are good, but not as good as those you’d get in a restaurant. I cooked them by the steaming method, using a bamboo steamer over around 2” water in a wok. I cut little squares of parchment paper and placed them under each dumpling, and then steamed them for 10 minutes. The first one I pulled off, which happened to be the first one I ate, had the most soup, and that one was actually pretty good. The others had less soup and their meat was weirdly dry/chewy. The first one also had an okay amount of flavor, which I suspect came from the soup. The rest were less flavorful, so I tried adding various things. Unfortunately, I didn’t have black vinegar or fresh ginger. I only had rice vinegar, red vinegar, malt vinegar, and balsamic, as well as pickled ginger. So I tried it with the balsamic, which was a little too sweet for the dumplings, but oddly seemed a bit better than the rice vinegar. I also tried it with soy sauce, and then it tasted more like steamed Japanese gyoza than a soup dumpling. The pickled ginger did not go well with it, but I ate it after because I love pickled ginger. Overall, I would still get these again, but I’d do so after I purchased some black vinegar and fresh ginger as I think these would be significantly improved with the right accoutrement. For comparison, if you’ve had TJ’s pork dumplings, those have a lot of soup and are much more flavorful than these.
