About this item
Highlights
- Its most famous malfunction, though, was Ron's attempted hex of Draco Malfoy – in retaliation for him calling Hermione a 'filthy little Mudblood' – which backfired and caused Ron to vomit a continuous stream of slugs.
- A slug is a kind of slimy invertebrate. Multiple specific kinds of magical slugs are mentioned: horned slugs as part of the boil cure potion in PS8, fire slugs as Newt Scamander's current research subject (FW), and flesh-eating slugs as pests in CS4 and as someone's Boggart in PA7.
- Ron curses himself. The Slug-Vomiting Charm (Slugulus Eructo) is a charm that causes the victim to burp up slugs and slime for approximately ten minutes; they may also take on a sallow complexion as a side-effect. It is described as a green jet of light.
Description
Why is Ron throwing up slugs ??
He regurgitates the slimy creatures after his spell on Malfoy backfires. Rupert Grint, who plays Ron, said the slugs were his favorite scene in the movie. Of course, he wasn't eating real slugs but tasty imitations. “That was so fun because they had all these different flavors of slug slime,” Grint told CBBC.
