Description
This Zafu Meditation Cushion from Gaiam will bring a soft touch and extra comfort to your practice. Thoughtfully designed to improve your position during meditation by stacking your spine while also relieving pressure from your knees, ankles, and back. Filled with buckwheat hulls that will gently conform to your body's shape and a removable microfiber cover with an easy to carry handle. The internal fill bag also has a zipper so you can add or remove the filling based on personal preference. Use with or without Gaiam's coordinating Zabuton Floor Meditation Cushion.

Dirty and full of bugs
This pillow arrived very noticeably dirty and had alive and dead tiny bugs on and inside of it. I would avoid this seller.

Nice Zafu
I have started meditating but am having challenges getting comfortable so, I decided I need a zafu. Research lead me to be concerned about bugs in the buckwheat hulls. I thought Gaiam is a respected, large company and will take measures against bugs. I was correct. I am now meditating in comfort. I removed some hulls to make the cushion more pliable so I can shape into more of an oblong and it's great. I found the best tool to remove the hulls was a ladle. I recommend this zafu.

I am trying to make informed decisions in my purchases. I wrote to the company to ask two questions: where is it made and where is the buckwheat from. Response: ""We are sorry but we do not have access to vendor information. [...] Our VP of Operations travels to our manufacturers yearly and ensures that they and our products meet strict standards. Gaiam has always had a reputation for high environmental and ethical standards"". I insisted to try to know at least the country of the vendor, but could not get a response. Gentle and serious support

I am so grateful for the pain reduction!
