Using the edging to stop poppies from spreading and it is very rugged but still bends a little to go around a fence! Easy to install as advertised- thank you!

Product is Thin, Should be linked together as much as possible before installing/Suggest two people or extra patience flying solo. Tends to roll over connected and 1 at a time is frustrating/ Constantly pulling up previous section to add on with not a smart track connection system. Otherwise product looks great, just review above. You cannot simply slap into the ground as described unless you are just going straight with 0 elevation change. Also is thin---don' t hammer this. Cutout a small trench/ Greatest benefit of this product is that it is sold in smaller section and at 5 inches in Height, allows for grade shifts "take your time" / Dig a small channel and back fill as you install/ Suggest use of heavy wet sand to keep track in place cleanly, especially necessary where sections join! A bit Pricey but if you understand the product and ground grade looks great. Spikes should be included with cost.

Relatively Easy to Install

I have next to no upper body strength, so easy installment was very important to me. It did take some stamina to get them installed (and some struggles with one side popping up when hammering the other), but ultimately I was able to get them installed by myself without over-exerting myself too much. For the average person, I imagine installation is super-easy. The grass does still grow over a bit, but not to the extent that it used to, and it makes it easy to trim things back.

I used this product in a large urban backyard to delineate two areas with an curvilinear edge. I planted one area with fruiting trees and shrubs, and a the second area is planted with grass. The edging creates a neat and elegant transition between the productive garden and the fescue area.

Great for curves, harder for straight lines

I used this product between a lawn and gravel path. Seems like it will keep grass from growing into the path and will be easy to mow over. Recommend digging out trench to place vs just hammering in if you have even small rocks in your soil, or the top of the rim will dent when you hit one trying to pound it in. It was hard to work with the pieces clipped together. I ended up just placing end-to-end and you can't even tell where one stops and the next starts. Will see if they pull apart over time. It is also tricky to make it look perfectly straight like in the photo unless you have a perfectly straight line to begin with. I measured from a flower bed, had to push filler down one one side and then the other to even it out, and still ended up with a a little bit of a wiggle. Next time I will pre-dig a couple of inches and \use a guide board to see if I can get it a straighter line. It looks great where the path bends - you don't notice the wiggles at all!

We are working on weekends to get our pathway done. So far this edging seems very user friendly. I think it will look really good once we are done.

Clean lines

Reading others comments I adjusted the way I installed this. I'm using the product on very rocky clay soil so I dug a trench and back filled, the result was a nice clean line and I didn't experience the difficulties the other reviewers had. I would recommend this product, but be cautious with how you install depending on your ground.

In pictures that advertise this product it looks relatively thick but you are seeing the folded top of a thin piece of metal. In the picture it is actually much thinner than the ring on the person's finger. You will need to hammer it with a rubber mallet but it will not drive through roots and small pebbles (even 1/4").

This edging gives very clean lines but it is a struggle to install with elevation changes…because the edging interlocks. It is very pliable and easy to bend.

Interlocking and installing around corners is not easy and does not look as good. Tried one at a time, have to pull up first one to lock second and then first won't stay down. Tried two linked and the top edge rolled over during install , looks beat up not clean.

Expensive and flimsy making it hard to get into the ground without damage. Tried to return but it would cost more to ship back (over $300) than the product cost. Waste of money.

Used it to keep patio gravel and flower bed soil separate. It's lightweight but sturdy and makes the area look much tidier. Just another item from Gardeners Supply that keeps an old lady in the gardening game.

Neat, clean edging lines

Thumbs up graphic, would recommend
SusanT - 6 years ago, Verified purchaser
I'd ordered this edging because I thought it'd be easier to install and would look nicer than the black plastic lawn edging sold at home improvement stores. It does look very nice and was rather easy to install. I would've liked it to be a bit thicker, though. It's supposed to be galvanized steel, but it seems rather limp, like aluminum. Yes, it's supposed to bend easily, but I wanted straight lines. It took awhile to get close to what I wanted to achieve. Also, if I hadn't had to clear sod and rocks, it would've been hard to pound into the ground. I actually dug a trench after clearing the debris and then pounded the edging in place. The previous area wasn't well-defined and I wanted a straight line. I'm not done yet, but it's getting there.
