    Super Excited

I have had all previous versions of the Descent MK and I have loved them! So was super keen to grab the MK3i! Super keen to take it for a spin off Straddie and also do the Noosa Tri in 2 weeks! Husband also gets a new computer in grabbing my MK2i now… lucky man

    Great Scuba Diving Watch/Computer

What I like most about this watch is that it never loses communication with its’ transceiver, unlike other air-integrated dive watches I’ve owned; maybe because it’s range is 10 meters instead of just 1 meter. I also like that it automatically goes into dive mode with no required action by me except to descend below 4 feet. I also like that with the Garmin Descent S1 Buoy, I am able to find my way back to the dive boat (Find My Buoy) out to 100 meters, which was something I’ve been looking for over the 40 years that I’ve been diving.

    Garmin Mki3

I bought this a few weeks ago, so far it has been the best and most comfortable watch I’ve had so far. Easy to navigate and upgraded from a tactix Bravo. Activities I tested so far with it: running, swimming, snorkeling, and diving. Battery life is insane, future content coming soon on my IG account @saltwater_discipline

A Powerhouse Watch with One Glaring Weakness

Overall, I really want to love my Garmin Descent Mk3i. As a tool for diving and fitness, it's nearly perfect. The GPS is lightning-fast, the build quality is exceptional, and the battery life truly lives up to the hype. It feels like a rugged, capable companion for adventures. However, for a watch in this premium price range, I have one significant gripe that holds me back from giving a full five stars: the sleep tracking is surprisingly inconsistent. The core of the issue isn't that it doesn't track sleep at all, but that it often does so inaaccurately and at the wrong times. For instance: · If I'm relaxing on the couch in the evening, being still while watching a movie or reading, the watch sometimes interprets this lack of movement as me being asleep. This leads to the "sleep" data starting far earlier than it actually does. · Conversely, on nights when I lie awake for a while, it doesn't always seem to capture that period of restlessness correctly. The other minor frustration is the somewhat rigid "Sleep Mode" schedule. While I understand the intent is to help with sleep hygiene, I wish it were more of a suggestion than a default. For those of us with irregular schedules, the automatic dimming and Do Not Disturb activation can be a nuisance if you're still active, and while you can adjust the times, you can't easily completely decouple it from the sleep schedule without manual intervention. The Bottom Line: This is a phenomenal diving and sports watch that feels let down by its sleep tracking features. If your primary focus is on underwater performance, surface activities, and navigation, the Mk3i is arguably one of the best you can buy. But if nuanced, granular sleep analysis is a top priority for you, this might not be the device to meet that specific need. It's a fantastic tool that's unfortunately just okay at tracking rest.

amoled is bad for an outdoor adventure watch

I wanted to try the latest garmin watch after wearing the descent mk1 and quatix 7 solar for many years. The previous watches used an e-ink style display with plenty of resolution, perfect visibility in sunlight, and the only battery saving technique I worried about was whether or not to update the display with every second tick. The mk3i takes several steps backwards with the amoled screen. Sure, the resolution and colors are beautiful, but it doesn't matter because the screen is in power saving mode frequently enough that there is nothing to see when you turn your wrist over (there is a required nightly sleep mode that requires your other hand to turn the screen on to see any output). And when the screen is on under heavy sunlight or with sunglasses on you can't read the output either. Overall I will sell this one in favor of the Felix 8e with the superior MIP display.

The watch that does it all

I have had my MK3i for about a year and it does everything I want, need and more. I use it primarily for diving, and it has performed as well as other dive computers I have owned. I also use for mountain biking, heart rate, altitude, hiking and running. As I contiune to explore the watch features I find more and more that I love about it. great buy!!!!

    Fantastic Dive and Everyday Watch

Having already owned the Fenix 5 and 7X, I was already a fan of the Fenix line. During a dive trip 120' down in the famous "The Pit" cenote in Tulum, my dive computer crapped out. My buddy finned by, the bright, crisp screen of his Garmin Descent Mk3i clearly visible even from several meters away. I ordered one that night! After wearing it for a year: Fantastic screen, snappy performance, no issues syncing. A marked improvement over previous Fenix watches. Fantastic dive computer that makes it very easy to switch between gases. I use the light daily...it's no gimmick...great for both underwater as a handy light and for everyday nighttime bathroom trips. I would have ZERO hesitation recommending this. Especially if you don't already own a smartwatch and a dive computer, this is a 2-for-1 and solves both needs fantastically. Good job Garmin.

    Style and function

I have yet to dive with this watch but it was incredibly easy to set up. The battery lasts for a full 25 days however I charge it about every 10 days. Looks great and I actually like wearing it constantly.

    This thing rocks

I’m a scuba instructor and also relatively active and the versatility in this watch is super convenient. The interface is also customizable so can adjust as you like. I can’t read analog clocks so the digital option with my heartbeat is sick. I have the titanium band so I had to take a couple digits off because I have tiny wrists but it’s super cozy and can’t even feel it there sometimes. Would buy for my kids if I had any, and would teach them Muay Thai so no one would steal it from them because this thing is cool

Great battery life, supports a lot of activities

The watch is super comfortable, fits pretty nicely, and is easy to put on and off. It doesn’t feel too heavy for the volume. I use it to record my runs, my hikes, and got it to go scuba diving with but haven’t done that yet. The heart rate monitor is pretty good, on par with most others. I got the hrm200 from garmin and it pairs nicely with it. The battery life is phenomenal especially coming from an Apple Watch. It’s easy to forget where the charger even is. (15-20 days easily, even with daily 1h+ activity recording) I have been enjoying their concept of body battery, it has brought some awareness to the need for rest and recover properly to me!

    More then I expected

I purchased the Garmin Decent MK3I based solely on its ability to monitor my dive buddy's depth and tank pressure at up to 10 meters. I felt the other features were the same or comparable to other brands. This dive computer is super eazy to use yet capable of serving the requirements of the most advanced tech diver. I will never find Descent inadequate but the great folks at Garmin will, I'm sure will have me wanting the next iteration. Features I was not looking for or interested in are winning me over. If you are looking for a dive computer don't make your choice with out a close look at Garmin Descent.
