Great heart rate monitor

This is my first heart rate monitor and I've been really happy with the HRM 200. I have my heart rate displaying on my Garmin Edge 540. I cycle with both my Garmin watch and computer which allows me to compare both. The HRM 200 seems to be much more accurate than the watch. It's been reliable so I'm happy. I also like that the HRM unit is removable from the band for washing and replacement.
Requires compatible watch or bike computer

I spent a couple of hours trying to get this HRM to work with the Garmin Connect app on my phone with no success. Finally, after a bunch of searching, I discovered that it requires a compatible watch or bike computer in order to interface with the app and/or display heart rate. It's not in the Garmin documentation that came with the HRM and was very hard to track this information down. I returned it.
Very consistent

Went back to using a HR monitor. This one works and pairs perfectly with my Garmin 840. For a while I was depending on my sport watch, but the HR strap monitor is more accurate. Glad I got this! It’s very comfortable and easy to put on.
Great for Workouts!

Bought this on sale and was eligible to use my FSA to cover it. More comfortable than I expected. Don't really notice it while cycling.
Has worked flawlessly

Have only used the HR monitor for a handful of weeks but have had no issues. The monitor was easy to link to my Garmin watch and it starts up when I put it on. Nothing to complain about.

Bought it today excited to track my sleep … spent a few hours setting up, uninstalling, setting up, uninstalling etc. it’s connected and all looks good but there are no updates on the display screen of the app. I CHECKED EVERYTHING! Over and over. To the garmin team - you made the product and the software. Make your product work with the software!

I bought this to replace one I had that was starting to fail. I'm really happy with it. It connects easily to my Echelon app, and I'd like to try it with other apps as well. It connects to my Lily 2 watch, but the watch's heart rate is the default, and it's not accurate when I'm exercising indoors or out. I'd like to have the HRM 200 metrics be the default on the watch, but I don't know how to do that.

I will start by stating that I am currently watching the heartrate feedback data continue to go up and down with my heartrate.... with one huge cause of concern... I'm not wearing it or my watch!!!! IF this doesn't tell you all you need to know. Garmin knows their heartrate monitors/sensors are defective and yet keep selling them. They gave me the band to make up for their faulty watch and neither work properly. DO NOT BUY A GARMIN PRODUCT FOR HEARTRATE FEATURES. If it does work (who knows) it displays the rate far below what the true heart rate is. This can be DEADLY if you need to maintain a certain level due to health. BE WARNED, POSSIBLE RESULT OF DEATH!

This monitor has been a struggle to get it connected to the Garmin watch and app. After numerous attempts, still does not connect even though the watch connection is secured now.

Have used the HRM 200 for 6 indoor rides thus far. Very comfortable easy to operate and pair. Added bonus it can transmit data securely for enhanced security. Waiting for warmer mornings to start using for outdoor rides

This HRM 200 is a vast improvement over the HRM-Pro I also have. The idea of making an attachable unit, and chest strap to which you can attach and detach the unit is great. Being able to wash the strap really helps in eliminating bacterial build-up on the belt, thus increasing the belt's longevity. Although, I am having a challenge in pairing the HRM 200 with the Garmin Edge 130 Plus. Is there a solution for this? .
Worked great one time.

I've tried using this six times, it worked great the first time, gave me all sorts of data, extra screens on my Edge 530, but nothing since. When I look under sensors on the Edge, it show it is there and ready, but I am unable to get it to connect and show any data at all. Going to delete it from the device and try to reinstall and see if that helps.

Prior issues of having to wet my old HMR or wait until I break a sweat to get the proper connectivity so my cycling computer could pick up the output is gone. All it takes is putting the HMR 200 on snugly and you are connected.

Better than the previous version

I like the LED in the main unit, as I always wondered with the previous version if it was on or not. Put it on, see the LED blinking 3 times every 5 seconds for the first 2 minutes, and you know it's working. The button has several helpful functions, which I'll use only occasionally. The main unit is larger than its predecessor and the battery life is 1 year instead of 3. But, the old unit would not alert you if the battery was low unless you went to check the device in Garmin Connect, which may or may not have been that accurate. So I like this main unit better than the prior one as I don't think the size and weight are any problem anyway. The new strap is much less elastic than the old one, which requires a lot of trial and error adjusting it to fit correctly. Thankfully the adjustment clip is a much simpler mechanism than the prior one so adjusting the strap is easier. I'm a 42" chest, usually large, and I obtained the M-XL size. But I had to adjust the strap about 90% out to get it to fit without fitting too tight. I'm guessing the maximum chest size is likely 48".
Increase accuracy!

I have been diagnosed with some very mild SVT and Occasional PVCs post Covid and since then I have had problems with Regular heart rate monitors cutting out during high heart rate and not getting back online until I dropped my heart rate below 100. This is very frustrating during training/rides. I have not had any cut outs or drops in my heart rate with this new monitor.
