Power is good, able to cut through branches up to 3/4 inch with no problem. Battery run time is good. You have to be at least a couple feet away from a small hedge to trim it though since there is no way to use without telescoping to 6 feet minimum. Weight on this is also pretty ridiculous. Would recommend regular hedge trimmer unless you have 10 foot tall hedges

I bought this a month ago and used it to trim several long hedges that were taller than me. The unit had good power to cut and the battery lasted until the job was done. One challenge was the weight balance as the electric motor is on the end with the blades, not in the handle. After a couple hours of trimming, my arms felt fatigued. The battery is not heavier enough to offset the imbalance.

Not too heavy but it's not super light weight, so be prepared for that. Trims very well! I love that the batteries go with my other Greenworks products.

I used to stand on my pickup truck to cut taller hedges but now I can stand safely on the ground to complete the task. I especially like the adjustment to angle the blade. The 60volt battery works with my new greenworks cordless lawnmower. Storage is easy,as it can be laid out in one long length. At 72 years of age, this tool has made a difference in my motivation to keep up with my yard work.

Been using it for about a week now and am very impressed. The battery life is perfect for 2+ acres of trimming and light brush clearing. Used it 2+ hours and still have plenty of battery life, not that it matters because charging is pretty quick. It’s much easier to use than corded versions and has just as much, if not more, power. The portability means I can take it anywhere - i throw it in the back of my lawn trailer and off I go. It also reaches about 10-12’ high, so it’s great for those tall hedges. Absolutely no complaints. I gave it 5 stars for durability, but have really only used it twice.

Great for a senior citizen because it is light enough to operate.. strong cutters that slice branches and shrubs with finger size stalks.

My daughter bought this hedge trimmer, loaned it to me for my hedge. I am a 75 year old grandmother and I found it simple and easy to use. It turned my all day trimming job into a half hour task. Love it.

I came across this trimmer while looking for something that was economical, easy to use, and that could work for many different types of trimming. The area I was planning to trim has some neglected boxwoods, overgrown flowerbeds (virtually abandoned), and even a large row of 10+ foot bushes that have been overgrown with briars and vines. This trimmer allowed me to cut all of them without any trouble at all! It is also good for maintenance now that the areas are in better shape. The length is great, having the added pole extension is even better! Balancing the trimmer and getting used to the trigger points (there are two that must be held to operate the trimmer) can be a little tricky at first, but you get the hang of it in no time. Battery life was sufficient. You will probably get fatigued before the battery runs out, so perfect time to take a break from the heat, charge, and repeat! Power is good. I was able to cut through some 2" diameter areas with minimal effort (do recommend tackling the thicker items on fresh battery charge). Overall great trimmer and I would purchase again and recommend to any friends!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After opening the box, it didn't take long to assemble the Pole Hedge Trimmer. Inside of the box is the power head, hedge trimmer, blade cover, 24v battery, charger and user manual. The battery was fully charged in under an hour. The head could be pivoted in 7 different positions from a -30 degree to 75 degrees angle. The handle could be extended about 9 inches if needed. The hedge trimmer is easy to operate. To operate the trimmer, you would have to engage a lock out button a front trigger and a switch trigger. Don't worry, all triggers and buttons are in a place that is natural for the hand to be in.The trimmer did very well in cutting the hedge and with the extension, I was able to stay on one side of the hedge to do all of the trimmings instead of walking around the hedge to complete the job. The trimmer was powerful enough to attack some of the over grown stems that was quite thick from not being cut in a few years. The trimmer appears to be sturdy and well built. The only negative I see is that the trimmer might be a little top heavy for some, especially if you have it extended to the max. This trimmer is not only for trimming tall hedges or wide hedges, it could also be used to cut low near the ground of the hedges. Instead of bending down to trim the hedge along the bottom, all you need to do is readjust the head and hold the hedge trimmer pointing down and now you could clean up the bottom of the hedge. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who's looking for a pole hedge trimmer. No gas. No fumes. No cords. Very little noise. It's a winner in all categories.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This too is a convenient replacement for my corded trimmer. No set up, or dragging drop cords all over the yard & best of all, no cut cords! It's powerful enough for the small to mid-sized branches. For the large branches, your still going to want your pruning shears handy. I forward to using it in the spring and summer when my hedges & bushes really start to grow! I gave it only 4 stars because I think the extension system could be a bit better. Perhaps a push button & hole arrangement vs. the current tab-lock system.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wasn't sure this trimmer would be useful for regular trimming, but it actually worked quite well. I loved the pivot feature so I could adjust the angle of the trimmer bar. The pieces went together easily and the trimmer worked fine. My only complaint is that it seems a better fit for greenworks' well-established 40 volt or 80 volt systems. I'm not sure why the decision was made to go with 24 volts.
Nice trimmer but get 40 volt model

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great trimmer if you need extra height. Battery life was fine for trimming very tall hedges in the back of my house. This is 24 volt and not compatible with the rest of my Greenworks tools (40 volt). Recommend spending the extra to get 40 Volt for more power.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Gets the job done right. Pole trimmer arrived easy to assemble and use. A bit on the heavy side but worked better than I expected. The battery power is consistent, powerful and lasted a long time. I especially like the pivoting head option, allowing me a trim my tall hedges in record time. The two hand safety feature works for me. When the pole is fully extended it was a bit awkward to use.
Overall, I was impressed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just tried the new GreenWorks Pole Hedge Trimmer, and it made quick work of a trim without bothering my neighbors. Overall, I was impressed. Pros: 1. Makes reaching tops and sides of hedges so much easier than my professional gas trimmer. 2. Less fatigue due to lighter weight than gas trimmers. 3. Quick charging lightweight 24V battery. 4. Battery lasted until I was ready for a break. 5. Easy to assemble and disassemble. Battery is easier to remove than some other units. Cons: 1. Not as powerful as a gas trimmer. Works better for regular maintenance than heavy trimming. 2. Motor/drive unit is heavier than desirable at the end of the pole. Clearly a trade-off between power and weight. 3. Rotating the blade angle makes it more difficult to handle, creating a rotating torque. Easier to change your own position as needed. 4. Can’t plug the battery into the motor/drive unit to use it as a traditional trimmer. 5. Needs some easy way to hang it or a hanger provided.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I own close to all of Greenworks tools including a 40 volt lawn mower, pole saw, hedge trimmer, chain saw and have been very satisfied with their performance. Some are three years old and still going strong. My wife is a small woman at 5'2" and couldn’t reach the higher areas of our juniper bushes with the 40 volt hedge trimmer. Now she can easily with the 20" extension on our new 24 volt hedge trimmer. Additionally, the hedger is very easy to assemble and adjust the head to the desired angle for the job. It's also is a bit lighter. This makes life easier for me because I no longer have to reach the taller branches for her. It runs about 25 minutes per charge, which is more than enough time to complete the task. The hedger appears to be well built and sturdy much like my other GW 40 volt tools. It breezes through small branches and is powerful enough to tackle 1" branches without clogging or stopping the blades. I highly recommend the 20" hedge trimmer, buy it you won't regret it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This trimmer exceeds expectations. The trimmer was packaged well, assembled super easy and has great battery life (24v). I have a 5 ft. fence around my yard and the shrubs from the neighbors tend to grow over the top. It tends to look shabby. Well this trimmer made it incredibly easy for me to not only reach the overgrowth on my side, it cut through the shrubs like butter; even small branches weren't a problem. It tackled brush with ease. The extension pole combined with the 20" blade makes it very efficient at getting the job done. It's not too heavy or bulky, it's just right. An added benefit is how quiet it runs.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was able to put this 24v Pole Trimmer through its paces this past weekend with shrub work at home and some maintenance at my favorite trails. First off, the fit and finish of the product is very good. It assembles quickly and was ready to get down to business. I first used it trimming hedges, saplings, and bushes on some family property. I am 6 feet tall and appreciated the extended reach and adjustable head-angle that made using a ladder a thing of the past on all but the tallest of bushes one would find around most homes. The dual-button trigger, though initially a bit cumbersome, took only a bit to get used to and it's a good safety feature to have. For shrubs lower to the ground, I quickly appreciated the fact that I could stand back farther than I would with a regular hedge trimmer, and this allowed me to form them into the desired shape a bit better visually in my opinion. At 24v, it had more than enough power and longevity to complete the tasks at hand. The next day, I took it to my local hiking/biking trail for a maintenance day and used it to cut back saplings and small limbs that extended onto and over the trails. Over the course of 4.5 miles and approximately 3 hours of on-again/off-again use, I was able to exhaust the previously-used-the-day-before battery, along with two others, and clear some heavily overgrown sections with ease. Here again, with the extended reach and head-angle adjusted back towards me, it provided the relief to walk upright along the trail and still run the trimmer just about parallel to the ground. This saved me from bending, stooping, and reaching so I felt more refreshed than I would have with a standard hand-held trimmer, without question. It's early on, but overall I'm very pleased with the performance thus far and I anticipate many more opportunities to put it to work in the future! Great product!
