Kids’ measuring guide

Use the tips & visuals in this guide to make taking your child's body measurements easy-peasy.

Dont have a fabric tape measure? Use a shoelace or pant leg to measure. Then, lay it flat & use a ruler or tape measure to get a numerical measurement.

How to measure

  • Height

    Have your child stand in front of the fridge.Mark the top of the head with a magnet. Measure a straight line from floor to magnet.

  • Chest

    Have your child make airplane arms. Wrap tape measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping it level & snug.

  • Waist

    With your child bending to one side, measure the point where the waist flexes naturally. Keep the tape level & comfortably loose.

  • Hip

    Have your child stand like a tall tree with feet together. Measure a level line around the fullest part of the hips & seat.

  • Inseam

    Take a pair of pants that fit your child well. Measure along the seam from crotch to leg opening.

Like others said, this sweater is horrible quality and wouldn’t make it through 1 use before it is considered trash. It pilled up horribly, was sheading all over her pants, and the arms looked stretch out. I was so embarrassed for her when I picked her up from school!

The worst quality!

The quality of this item is absolutely awful. After the first wash, I noticed threads coming out and pretty bad pilling. After wearing and washing again, it looks as though it's been worn and washed daily for months! I am so glad I have not removed the tags on the teddy bear one I intended to gift for Christmas. I'll be returning it immediately.

Buyer beware!

What happened Target? Cat & Jack used to be a quality brand I could get nice clothes for my kids from. I was very upset to see a ridiculous amount of piling after a few hours of wear with this sweater. So much to the point one would assume it had been worn and washed daily. I wish I’d checked the reviews before purchasing. As others have said it is super soft but don’t let that deceive you. Let me check the return policy bc I’d like my coins back for this one.

Worst sweater EVER!!!

Like all other reviews, I am here stating that the quality is horrific. It is really sad because it is so cute and Kim kid loves it. After 30 mins of cutting off strings and using a fabric shaver, it still looks terrible.

Beautiful color and so soft! I loved this sweater on my daughter but it’s poor quality. After one wear I had to use sewing shears to trim all the pulled fabric off. Took an hour. And I have to do that after every wear or it looks terrible. I’m so disappointed
