Epic film
I really enjoyed this movie in theater, so I wanted to own the 4K bluray. The 4K does justice to the cinematography which is colorful in the opening coastal scene and incredibly detailed in the city scenes of Rome. The story paid homage to the original film while also continuing the story through his son. The director has a mad streak of humor in his depictions of action sequences -- baboons with alopecia? Sharks in the colosseum? But if you can enjoy a film for the fantasy story it appears intended to be, and not for historical accuracy, then you can enjoy it as much as I did. The additional extra special features were very good, as well as the deleted scenes. I wish there was a director's commentary version as he sometimes did on previous bluray releases of his other films. This 4K bluray was an excellent addition to my collection.
