Q: How does this seal closed? I need to know my child won't open or smash open this thing.
submitted by Autism Mom 4545 - 4 months ago
A: The lid has a "safety cap" locking system. When putting the lid on, there will be an audible clicking sound as the lid is tightened. To open the jar, both handles have to be held in simultaneously while unscrewing the top.

Q: will the light turn off on its own or will that only happen when there is no liquid in the jar?

A: When the jar is turned over the light will automatically shut off

Normally I only leave a review if it’s something I really like or really don’t like. I thought I was going to like this. You have to change out the water and insides every so often. But if you forget to change it for even a day, it’ll be ruined. If your toddler throws it at all, it’ll break. It’s made for older kids, I guess. It’s a cute idea, but not actually feasible as a toy for toddlers.

Great Sensory/calming jar that my daughter immediately loved and settles her! It's so pretty! But it needs an on off switch! And the fillers should come with resealable bags!

Will not buy again. I've tried to get this to work several times and it won't light up.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Everyone in my house LOVES this thing. Myself included. I need one for all three of my children. It's super cute, we love all of the glitter and beads. The lights makes a really good nightlight also. And this thing is super durable! It's got so many scuffs from my one year old tossing it, and the best part is they can't open it. It is a great sensory toy on top of all of that. We will definitely be buying more. 😁

My daughter loved filling this play jar with some cool fillers that she found around the house :) She had so much fun with it. It looked so pretty in the dark you can see the jar changes color every few seconds!
I wouldn’t buy it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First of all, the product requires 3 batteries (not included and needs a x screwdriver). Because of the big amount of small parts, the toy cannot be played without closeup supervision. Once it filled with water, it becomes very heavy (indicated 18 months is not appropriate age for this toy). The lights are very bright and flashing constantly, I worried that it can negatively affect toddlers’ mood. My children were all interested in this new toy, but the little one was tired of lifting a heavy jar, and lost interest.
No stuff to put in the jar

Nice but lacking - 8 months ago
My mother ordered this for my daughter and I was so excited to put it together. But was upset cause it's just the jar there was no add in for it. Like the idea just wish it had stuff to go in it
Must have calm down jar

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was surprised with how many decorations this came with to add to the jar! My 3 year old daughter loved all of the glitter & being able to fill it up with what she wanted. The instructions say to drain the water out when not in use (which of course we ignored). The light at the bottom changes colors when it's tapped or moved & it turns off if you flip it upside down, so we store it upside down. The lid is removed by squeezing the handles together & twisting off the lid, so I feel it is pretty secured. We have been using this for about a month now & we have had no leaks or complaints!! My little one & I both love this sensory jar. It's great for settling down at bedtime.
Love this Low stimulation toy!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The sensory jar was super easy to set up and my kids thought it was really fun to choose what they would like to add into it. At first the kids were playing with it non stop and loved changing the colors and watching the toys inside float around. After the initial excitement died down a bit we used this toy mostly as a tool when one of them was having a hard time. It was an opportunity to slow down and focus on something like the tiny numbers or letters inside or changing of the lights. Surprisingly the battery life is super long even though we forget to turn it upside down to turn the light off often. The only thing I would change would be the necessity to change the water and empty it out. We haven’t done it yet(oops) but no issues with the inside.
Meh, good for babies, any child older than 18 months will get bored quick

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Not sure if this is supposed to do anything else? All it does is change colors. Blue purple red green orange. It held my 4 year olds attention for a whole minute. I guess it’s better for infants? But it seems like if an infant threw this toy from a high chair, it’d crack. The plastic doesn’t seem very sturdy.
The simplicity of creating and customizing sensory play jars is praised, making them a valuable addition to playtime routines for parents and children alike.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted to love this, and I wanted my newly turned 3 year old to love it. Turns out after a week the only thing she loves is adding the fillers, and that’s about it. It’s a fun concept but there is definitely room for improvement — the instructions say not to leave water in there for more than a day, which means the fillers need to be emptied out each time. There should be an extra mesh flap or something to catch the fillers when being poured out because, oh my, what a mess it makes, especially with the glitter! I tried to empty the glitter into a strainer because you’re not supposed to pour glitter down the sink, and even that made a mess and a bunch of glitter still got through, and a bunch was still left in the jar. If you’re going to put objects in there, I would recommend larger objects that can be fished out pretty easily and not the glitter or tiny plastic toys that come in the extra sensory pack. Also, the screws for the battery compartment on the bottom strip super easily; I had an issue with one of the four (other three worked fine) and ended up needing to find creative ways to pop that last one open. And finally, please add an on/off switch. Pouring it out and refilling everything after each use is not only impractical but also wasteful, with both fillers and with water.
Well made with a lot of fun things to add for different experiences

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love this thing! Seriously, it is great! I love that it can be used as a night light and that the things you put inside can be changed. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is it does have the tendency to leak a bit. I personally am okay with that because it’s a small amount and it’s just water, but I know that could be a dealbreaker for some. Other than that, this thing is so cute and my daughter is obsessed with it!
It’s just ok

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I find this toy just ok. My daughter wasn’t really into it. You have to take the water out of it every day and for the lights to go off. I wouldn’t personally purchase this.

I cannot get my son away from this jar! All you do is put three batteries in the bottom and it lights up and changes colors when you tap it! We like to use it when it is bedtime and time to wind down and read a story. When we are finished, we just store it upside down instead of dumping the water out and it seems to save battery life that way! Such a mesmerizing way to play.
Great 👍

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have had so much fun with the Glo Pals new Sensory Play Jars and Fun Fillers! This is such a fun and easy sensory activity to do with your kids! These sensory play jars are seriously so fun! They're like a snow globe you can use all year round! And don't worry, there is a VERY tight seal on these.
Easy, clean sensory fun!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received the Teal Sensory Play Jar, HUGE hit with my toddler. Love the versatility & quality of the product as well as the different “fillers” you can choose to buy or you can even use your own fillers too! Jar sides squeeze and lock so it is water tight! Will absolutely purchase these in the future as gifts for our other little friends.
