I like that it is easy to set up the hidden filtration system and LED lighting. I also like the compact size which fits perfectly on a desk or table making it an excellent addition to any decor. It is also low-maintenance and has a sleek appearance. Light creates a beautiful environment and filtration ensures the water is clear. It's a fantastic way for my kids to learn about responsibility and fish life. The only downside is the filter pump is somewhat noisy and the lid is a little flimsy but that does not deter me from liking it. I've been an aquarium hobbyist for 40 years so I'm not new to setting up tanks and fish-keeping. I was excited to set up this GloFish tank as I'm somewhat familiar with this brand of fish but had never kept them myself and I'm intrigued by how the special spectrum of lighting affects how we see their body color. I learned while researching the brand that GloFish brand fish are not injected with color as other similar fish are. I was appalled at the injection practice ever since it became popular and I always refused to buy or sell them. GloFish are bred to be that color which is not harmful or more stressful to them than regular fish breeding. The fish are beautiful but I did not buy any for this tank as I prefer more natural fish. I used a black sand for the substrate called Black Diamond Blasting sand. It's been great. I added a few live plants and will get more soon. I wanted to keep it empty for photos first. I cycled my tank with aquarium water from my old well-established and very healthy tank. I let it run for a month with no chemical spikes and added 4 fish that will be happy living here until I find a few more of each type then they are going into my larger community tank. I have 2 Green Lantern Platys and 2 Black Velvet Mollies. This is too many for a 5 gallon but this is a temporary home for them until I introduce them into my larger tank. This is a quarantine in essence to make sure my other fish don't get a pet store disease from these fish. The specialized lighting on this tank is great. It shows off the blue-green shine on my fish. I pictured two of the lighting modes: daytime and nighttime. I did not picture the blacklight because my fish are not black light reactive. My only complaint is that the heater can't maintain the correct temperature if it is placed in the filter box as advertised. That only works if the water flow is set to high; if it is low there is not enough flow and the tank water is 5° cooler than the filter box water. Setting it higher still doesn't work and overheats the water in the back causing other biological issues. Overall this was easy to set up looks great and seems well made! Please do lots of research on the proper water biology and needs for the fish you'd like. This small size will work as a permanent home for very few fish.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like the curved glass instead of having seams with silicone blocking your view. The thick glass lid is a plus too. I also like the filter is hidden in the back and there's enough room to hide the heater. I'm not a fan of the filter cartridge so I replaced it with a foam sponge. I'm also not a fan of the light. I get that it's meant for glo fish but it's just way too blue for me and I wish there was a bright white setting so I switched that out with another light I had.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this GloFish tank and so does my new Beta. I like that all the filters are hidden in the back of the tank out of view. My beta was having issues with the flow of the water even with it on the lowest setting. I found a small filter that I placed over the water opening. It has made it much better for him to swim around. Water quality has remained crystal clear. The black light is beautiful at night. I did buy GloFish decorations to go with the tank but then decided against putting them as the edges seemed rough. I have not completely cleaned the tank yet other than doing water changes so we will see how that goes. All in all it's a beautiful well-made tank. My fish seems very happy.

It has a built in pump that is extremely quiet. The built in pump also makes it low maintenance. The lights are beautiful and compliment the glofish and aquarium plants well. I love the different modes. The glass is very thick and well made. Get this aquarium. You won't regret it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love this glow tank! The one problem I found was that it didn't come with a heater. Otherwise it has beautiful bright colors there is almost no noise with it it has blue light black light and daytime lights so you can adjust to what you want at that moment. I haven't had it long enough that it needs cleaned but I don't see that being a problem since I have 4 other tanks in my house and all the equipment to do it with. What a wonderful product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm a beginner to glofish. But this glofish aquarium kit is great and a beautiful setup! It was super easy to set up and cycle. The filters are easy to swap out and clean/change. I haven't had to do a full clean yet but I'm sure it'll go just as easily but we are going to add a glofish Cory or shark in to help eat up some debri. The built-in filtration is convenient to not have a bulk filter sticking out the top of your aquarium. The noise level is quiet and you can change the amount of water flow from the filter. The higher you go the more bubbles but also the louder noise of a waterfall and vise versa. I prefer it higher for added oxygen without a bubbler and the flowing water noise is very relaxing. My 3 new pet fish seem to love the aquarium and have been adapting pretty well. Another feature I really enjoy is the multiple different built-in lighting. Off of course so your fish can get their sleep blue light which highlights the colors in your aquarium black light that brings out blues more and creates a more of a glow without being as bright as the blue light and my favorite the fade in and out between each setting!The only thing I would say I would like to change about this aquarium is the lid! There isn't a handle for the lid. Just the glass and the plastic edging. Which makes it difficult to lift the lid to do any water changes feeding or anything else you may have to do to gain access to the fish/decor. Knowing my luck I can see the lid slipping from my fingers and breaking.

The design is horrible when it comes to the filter system. I found this out due to my pump not working at all and had to keep taking it out to try to get it to work to no avail. Very disappointed because if I want to keep using this tank I have to go buy a new pump.

The integrated design of the filter being hidden makes it so streamlined and enjoyable to view as well as the seamless glass. The light options are very cool and have good options for day time glow and even one suitable as a nightlight. The filter is pretty loud though and we have had to unplug it at night to keep it quiet enough for us to sleep. The power cord is also fairly short and needs to be longer. Overall such a great addition to our room though. We have a few platys and neon tetras.

I received this tank to try it out and decided to add live plants since it claims to have lights suitable for them. My fish have been doing great. It comes with a sponge and carbon filter. They've been using the tank for several days now. Though with the time they've had I'm not sure if I can say much about how easy it is to clean. But as I mentioned my fish don't produce much waste so it should generally stay in good condition for a long time.The aesthetics are very nice. I'd say it has three light settings. The one that switches between blue and white is a bit annoying because it changes too quickly and abruptly. Other than that everything is great. The dim light is lovely as well as the white and blue lights. Very pretty overall.It's small and practical but five gallons of water is enough to keep small fish happy. So far everything is going well. It looks aesthetically pleasing and will fit nicely in a small space in your home where you want to keep little fish.
