I bought this to help strengthen the muscles around my waist after years of walking with a cane. It is much easier to carry than a dumbbell and is easier to pick up off the floor. Just what I needed.

First of all, the kettle bell is high quality and I love the color. Secondly the bell comes with a DVD featuring different types of kettle bell workouts. It's perfect for beginners like me, because they start the video with a lesson on all the different moves you can do and their names. I love doing this workout at home!

I bought a 30 lb GoFit kettlebell from a sporting goods store a little over a year ago. This 40lb ended up being just about the same price. GoFit is a great brand for KBs, as they are very durable and easy to handle. Kettlebells are pretty straight forward in terms of use, but I have seen others chip and damage if dropped or banged into anything, and this one holds up so far. One star off for the way it came packaged, which was pretty much completely destroyed. The box was ripped to shreds and even the DVD case was smashed (somehow the actual dvd made it through unscathed).

These are great! I plan on purchasing the entire set at some point (at least the weights I can do comfortably) I just purchased the 10lbs version because I've had a kettlebell re-reenlightenment. Great design. I love the variety and the vinyl coating that makes working out with these kettle bells less daunting. The wide handles makes gripping super simple; and for me at least, safer.

I have always been a fan of dumb bells or bar bells, but now that I have tried the kettlebell, I doubt I will ever go back to traditional "bells". The kettlebell is easier to maneuver and you can do so many more moves with it than you can with a traditional bell. The kettlebell is well constructed and I like the rubberized surface so it doesn't scratch up any surfaces and adds some grip factor to the bell. The workout DVD that comes with it is great! I was not expecting much so I was surprised by the quality of exercises. In only 25 minutes, I felt sore already. As you know, the next day is the real test. I am really sore today (the good kind of sore) from my kettlebell workout yesterday. This is a better workout than anything I have tried with regular dumb bells.I highly recommend this kettlebell and DVD.

I am a licensed kettlebell trainer and was looking for a bell for a female beginner. The shape of the handle on this kb is wide which is important for authentic kb lifts such as the clean and the snatch. I'm not a fan of the DVD workout that comes with this kb because it doesn't teach any kb lifts from the actual sport of kettlebell competition. This is a good bell to start with if an 8kg (17.6 lbs) competition kb is too heavy for you. I also recommend using wrist bands to save the back of your wrists from bruising.

I purchased the 10 lb kettlebell because I already have the 25 lb kettlebell. This 10 lb kettlebell came with a DVD, which was a bonus. The DVD's goal, I believe, is to show the correct usage of the kettelbell weight; how to stand, how to bend, how to hold your arms, et cetera. The quality of the video recording on my DVD is subpar (meaning the picture is not crisp), but it is still watchable, and the audio is okay. The handle on this kettlebell is comfortable to hold with both hands. I like the vinyl over iron kettlebells because you don't have to worry about plastic edges or sand shifting in the bell. The vinyl is easy to keep clean, too. I would recommend this instrument to beginners for sure.

I waffled a lot on whether or not to get the 10 lb or the 15 lb kettlebell, but eventually decided I wasn't quite ready for the 15 lb, even if it meant this purchase was going to antiquate itself quickly for me. For those reviewers who complained on the quality of the video production, I agree. It was cheaply made. For those who complained there was no workout, I'd like to correct that for any people wondering if they should buy this. First of all, GoFit gets right out there and recommends its 15 lb kettlebell and accompanying DVD for a woman with some exercise experience. The 10 lb KB is for the woman who has never worked out before and they really treat it that way without completely babying you. Since I'm somewhere in the middle, the workout for the 10 lb is a little on the easy side, but that doesn't mean it isn't good exercise and doesn't mean it doesn't leave me with sore thighs. If you only do this workout once in a while, this will keep you for awhile. If you do this workout a couple times a week, you will need to move up to a heavier weight soon. If you hate the workout, you can hit the "Learn the Movements" option, which nicely teaches you some of the basic moves in the kettlebell world. Apply that toward the provided workout, or use the knowledge to design your own.If you've never tried kettlebells before, you might be like me, who had a preconceived notion that it was all about upper body work before I went to my first class. I limped around like the oldest, most arthritic woman ever the next day. The muscles in my thighs and back just ACHED. Thankfully, that was the only time kettlebells left me in such pain (I barely minded because I had loved the class so much). Kettlebell workouts looove the squats and lunges, though, partial and full, and this workout is no different!

I recently started working out after gaining a bit of weight and being completely out of shape. I joined a gym and went a few times but stopped after just a few weeks. I'm one of those people that just don't feel comfortable working out with so many people around. The only machine I ever used was the elliptical. Plus, I would have loved to get a personal trainer because I'm not knowledgeable about proper work out techniques but they are so expensive. A couple of my girl friends do kettlebell workouts and have raved about it to me so I finally decided to give it a try.I bought this particular kettlebell because it came with the DVD since I have no idea what I'm doing. The DVD is short but it will teach you everything you need to get started. It goes through the basic moves and you can take your time learning before you do the actual routine. I thought about possibly getting an 8lb ball to start off with but I'm glad I got the 10lb. The 10lb is perfect even for a beginner like me. It's light enough to lift without any problems but still weighs enough to give me a proper workout. I was winded and sweating in the first 10 minutes of the routine. With the kettlebell, I can get a great workout in the comfort of my own home. I'm in the process of convincing my husband to do it with me but he thinks kettlebells are only for girls. Pshhhhhhhh if he only knew how difficult this could be.I did not receive the exercise booklet that was supposed to be included, but I'm not too worried about it. The internet is full of so many videos and other kettlebell exercises.

This was my first kettlebell, and as such I went pretty light. This 10 lb. weight is a good starter, to help you get familiar with how kettlebells work and what you can do with them. Though interestingly, I've found that certain moves are actually easier to perform with a heavier weight (e.g., it's easier to keep the bell from hitting your forearm during a Clean with a heavier bell because the center of mass is different).Anyway, the GoFit kettlebells are well-made. The rubber coating adds a tiny bit to the comfort, but mostly helps keep the bell from scratching/gouging other items :) The handle is pretty comfortable, though this small kettlebell is rather hard to use for two-handed swings unless you have really tiny hands. But then again, it's pretty light for that purpose anyway, so it's not a major detriment.

I really like this kettlebell and you won't go wrong if you decide to purchase this particular GoFit one. I didn't even watch the DVD because other people said that it was not all that good (maybe I should, though). I am using the exercises that are laid out by Prevention Magazine (two issues ago so try July 2010 or August 2010). Prevention showed another brand that weighs 8.8 lb but the 10 lb weight is not much heavier and worked out well, for me. Also this brand is slightly less expensive and the quality is perfect. I have the kettlebell in the back of my car and I have used it at the beach when my young son is playing etc. A super on the go item or you can sneak in a little work out at home while the other family members are doing their own thing. Ah yes, if you do the Prevention Magazine work out, your heart will get pumping and you may sweat a bit..these are actually bonuses for your body ;).

I absolutely love this workout. I actually noticed an increase in muscletone after a couple of workouts and after several weeks I feel amazing! I'm only doing it twice a week to work in my other excersize routines but it is an amazing workout, both aerobic and strength wise!!!!!I lost 104 pounds two years ago and have steadily increased my workout routines, but never really integrated weight training, just concentrating on aerobics due to time. The kettlebell helps with both and I am excited with the results. The accompanying video was easy to follow. I don't have much space and it is not required for this routine which makes it an excellent choice for me. I highly recommend this product!!!

Sure, kettlebells are kind of a fitness fad right now in the US, but don't let that stop you. In addition to being popular, they are also awesome. A historic Russian analogue to the dumbbell, a kettlebell is basically an iron cannonball with a handle on top. Kettlebell exercises typically concentrate on engaging many muscle groups at a time by swinging or lifting the kettlebell. Pavel Tsatsouline, one of the trainers most responsible for popularizing the kettlebell in the States, promises that a good kettlebell workout will work out your whole body, burn fat, and build flexibility, and so far, I kind of believe him. I feel like I am getting a great all around workout, building muscle tone, and building core strength. Even better, it is much easier to combine light strength with cardio using the kettlebell. I can get my heart rate up to 85% and get a great workout, and I love it. This particular kettlebell is 35 pounds (or just a smidgen short of one "pood", the Czarist Russian unit of measurement that is often used for these things). That's the recommended starting weight for a man without much recent lifting experience, and as an out-of-shape man, I can assure you that it's a good starting weight. It's challenging, but not impossible, as I start with basic exercises like swings and squats, and work my way up. I think the weight will last me for a while, as I can increase the number of reps and the difficulty of the exercise, but if I stick with it, I will eventually need a second KB, a bigger KB, or both. Unlike most of the alternatives, the GoFit bells come with a vinyl coating, and have a flat section on the side of the ball where they put the weight and logo. I like the vinyl, which I think *might* protect my floor somewhat if I drop it, and which should protect the ball itself from minor dings and nicks. On the other hand, some reviewers don't like it, arguing that if the ball bounces, you're in more trouble than if it doesn't. I don't have a problem with the flat area, but some people on the net complain about it. The GoFit balls also come with a basic video that shows the form for several exercises. It's not a workout video, but just basic instruction. Kettlebells can hurt your back if done incorrectly, so the best thing to do is to get a session with a local kettlebell trainer.
