Nowhere Else to Go But Home. . . Faith Stutzman Andrews ran away from her Amish home in Webster County, Missouri, ten years ago to chase an unusual dream--that of being an entertainer on the English stage. After enduring an abusive marriage, Faith is now widowed and arrives back on her parents' doorstep, hoping they'll provide a stable home for her six-year-old daughter while Faith goes back on the comedy club tour. Will the lure of the English world prove too strong for Faith or will she discover that home is where her future lies? Confirmed bachelor and Christmas tree farmer Noah Hertzler isn't your run-of-the-mill Amish man--he enjoys cooking and often bakes desserts for others, attaching a verse of Scripture to each of his culinary delights in the hopes of soothing the soul as well as nourishing the body. Will Noah's methods grow stale with time, or will he capture Faith's heart before she runs away again? Which dream will Faith ultimately choose--that of having the career she's always wanted or the family she's never had? Other books in the Brides of Webster County series include:On Her Own: Book 2

Going Home by Wanda E. Brunstetter is a sweet story. I thought it was well written with great characters. I like that the characters are realistic with flaws as well as good points. The theme of love is throughout the story. I enjoyed the humor sprinkled throughout as well (I like a story that makes me chuckle). I like that the realistic portrayal of the Amish. They have their difficulties just like the English (trials and tribulations). One of the takeaways for me was that God does answer our prayers. It may not be the way we expect or as quickly as we would wish. Going Home is about family, friendship, community, finding your home, prayer, and faith.

"Faith's like a muscle you've got to develop. It takes time and patience." This story is a tribute to realization of when it is time to let go of the old and have faith that what is new will bring all that is needed. The story's characters are relatable and realistic, from their feeling of being misunderstood and unappreciated to the desire of a future that leaves them feeling fulfilled and secure in their personal relationships. As the main character, Faith, spends more time in her Amish community after being gone for ten years, she finds herself needing to give and receive forgiveness from her parents and lacking in the faith to believe in a future of happiness for herself. As a relationship develops with Noah, she finds that her future might not be what she planned. I really enjoyed seeing Faith make changes that give her the happiness in her life that she is seeking. The story is an easy read and shares that faith and redemption can come to all that embrace it. A nice choice for those that enjoy Amish romance.
