Q&A(150)

Q: I have an air fryer (not this brand) that has the coating of the basket flaking off. Will this one do that?

submitted by QShea - 1 year ago
  • A: Yes it will. And it does. I've owned several Gourmia air fryers and the basket flakes and the grill plate. Customer service is helpful, but the problem persists. No matter how gentle you clean or avoid using oils or sprays, it keeps happening.

submitted byGOURMIA Fry King - 1 year ago
  • A: Aerosol oils contribute to flaking. Do not use with air fryer.

  • A: I contacted Gourmia and bought a replacement 'pan' (the insert that fits in the basket, which the food sits on) - I believe it costed $15 and they may have shipped it for free.

submitted byBizzyRae - 11 months ago
  • A: With proper handling it will not occur

  • A: Yes - the basket flakes. I have never put food directly on any part of the air fryer, but rather use aluminum foil and I have never put it in the dishwasher. It is very dangerous and unhealthy!

  • A: How do you clean the glass in the basket

  • A: I saw liners on Amazon. I searched the Gourmia model and the liners were shown as 'recommended'.

submitted bykonabish - 2 years ago
  • A: Get a roll of parchment paper & cut your own squares for lining. Only costs Pennies per. Or get silicone reusable liners, easily rinse off.

Q: Every answer I’ve read to the question about flaking inside the unit & basket … how can this even be on shelves to consumers!? Seems awfully dangerous to even use this Product!?!?

submitted by Raeosun - 9 months ago
  • A: I use liners in the basket that way your food doesn’t touch the basket and you don’t have to worry about flaking.

submitted byMyrna - 8 months ago
  • A: Yes I agree! If they claim the consumer is not using it correctly, they can gaslight you. I never put food directly on the basket or metal insert, nor have I put it in the dishwasher and it flakes.
