Book Synopsis

Grab Another Gear

For Leaders Who Built Something Good and Quietly Stopped Feeling Alive in it

Coasting feels comfortable until you realize it's costing you the life you were meant to live.

You never set out to just go through the motions. You built something - or you're still building. From the outside, it may even look successful. But somewhere along the way, you got stuck in an old gear that no longer fits who you are or what's calling next.

You're not failing. You're settling. And the gear that got you here can't get you to what's next.

Grab Another Gear is your invitation to walk the four moves of a real shift; feel, clutch, grab, run.

Through five courses - Rally Cry, Identity, Legacy, Relationships, and Decisions - you'll get the framework, the stories and the Gear Checks that turn insight into action.

Inside, you'll learn how to:

  • Feel the wrong gear before the dashboard lights up
  • Reclaim the pioneer you were before you settled
  • Recognize who and what's running with you - and who and what's running you off the road
  • Build a Pit Crew of truth-tellers Recognize who's pulling alongside you - and who's pulling you off course who walk the shift with you

You have more to offer than how you're currently living. More fire in your soul than you've dared to believe.

You weren't built to coast. You were built to build.

The road is open. the next gear is yours to grab.

About the Author

Wayne Williams built a multi-million dollar telecom company and led it through near-death moments to a successful exit. Along the way, he testified before the U.S. House Ways and Means Committee. He's launched ventures, mentored founders, and learned the hard way which gears carry a leader forward and which ones grind them down.

Today he coaches executives, founders and pastors through the transitions that quietly run leaders off the road - succession, identity, legacy, the seasons of life. He calls himself Disruptive Activator with a Shepherd's Heart: someone willing to lean into stuck systems and unspoken tensions, not to create chaos but to spark transformation.

Wayne has been married to Terina for over 42 years. They have three grown children and seven grandchildren. Together they steward Petty Creek Mountain Ranch in western Montana, where pioneering, wilderness, and soul wake ups keep teaching them what most leadership books miss.

If you can feel something shifting and don't yet know what to do with it, Wayne wrote this book for you.
