After my initial use, I found the product easy to use. In the beginning, however, the entire process of setting up the sprayer with the stain followed by the clean-up was a little cumbersome. Nevertheless, I soon figured it out and it works great!

Pain to clean up oil-based stain

I purchased this for paint and stain. Application was ok but cleanup after using an oil-based stain was a nightmare. The instructions said to use soap and water. Duh! I knew better. The amount of small crevices on the body of the gun and small parts made this cleanup a nightmare. The stain could not be completely removed from strainer used to fill the gun. The stem cannot be removed from the strainer so I’ll need to buy a new part or risk flecks of brown stain making it into future paint projects which will be latex white paint. The cup does not hold enough material so frequent, messy refilling was required. The funnel needs to be wider. I transferred stain from the can into a smaller plastic container then into the cup/sprayer. The tips and unclogging design are effective. The sprayer applies an uneven pattern which required brushing after to remove sags and drips. Overall, a toss-up whether using this sprayer saved time and worked better than brushing. I have an help gun with a pressure pot. Cleanup on the at is a pain also but no more painful than cleanup of this sprayer which claim to make the process easy. Your mileage may vary.

We bought this to help my son and daughter inlaw to paint their 85 year old home exterior. I used it first to test the setup and was pleased with the results. We left it with them to continued the painting. We were tickeled to hear our daughter inlaw described how amazing it was to use! She could not stop smiling especially after several days of painting by brush. Nice to bring joy into others lives! Productive and quality results from novice users.

I have owned and used Graco sprayers in a painting and contracting business. I know their products to work well and last. While I have a new large airless sprayer, I bought this unit to spray smaller areas. There are a few necessary tasks that must be performed prior to spraying but once you've done it a couple of times it is second nature. I sprayed one door, and it applied the paint evenly and the finish was factory beautiful. Sadly though, that was the good news. The bad news is a few minutes into spraying a wall the sprayer quit spraying and started making a growling noise. I returned the sprayer and painted the project by hand. A note to the designers: The spray pot is a little small especially after priming. I'd like the sprayer to have an attachment line to a gallon paint bucket with a primer bulb.

I just recently purchased this and I have only used it once to paint a cabinet that I built. It did a good job. It’s a lot easier and quicker than using my big airless sprayer

This is a great product. I used it to paint my kitchen cabinets and the results are near perfect. Having the right paint helps but application is just as important. Only downside side is like all airless sprayers it goes though a lot of paint so have a lot on hand.

Still getting to know this product. I used it once to paint my Adirondack chairs. It was easier, and took less time but I did use more paint than expected but it could’ve been new user technique. A better review could be in the future after more uses of the device.

I wanted something without a long cord I could paint with and didn't have a lot of overspray. First time using it I figured out using shields on my corners I could even spray in my cuts. Pretty awesome tool. Pretty reliable also. Not a lot of places for failure or huge core to be tripping over except for the power cord I guess. Variable speed and the fine tip option was awesome for the more sensitive areas I didn't want to overspray. Take some getting used to to get the pattern even. Tool is heavy. Wouldn't really recommend it for children or females. So far very happy that I got it. Already bought the extra 42 Oz magazines with plugs. That's the key to doing production with this piece is to have extra pints filled ready to go.

Spraying hack

I work in a rental facility that use to carry these, great little machines for personal ownership, poor things were not meant for the rental way of life. One thing that always failed (mainly due because it was a rental unit and was never handled with care) was the prime cap valve on the top. You open it up and squeeze the bladder (from the bottom. Squeeze it from the mid to top area, you can accidentally disturb the seal from the screw on area) squeezing until the paint comes out the prime, and then close up and squeeze the trigger to prime the pump, and then open the valve to squeeze any excess air out, and start spraying. Sometimes the bladder at the seal, or the valve does not hold, and all the air re-fills the bladder, leading to anger and frustration. Don’t go all Vader on it, the quick fix it ( just to keep working, not actually a fix, but works 100%) is to just turn it upside down, and let gravity feed the pump. You just reposition your grip so that your pinky is not activating the trigger, but this will work guaranteed so you yourself can get the job done, and order a new valve later

Perfect fit for a retired do-it-yourselfer

I am a retired diy'er and I have very little paint sprayer experience. I dabbled with a cheap spray gun connected to my small pancake compressor and was beginning to get the hang of it. However, my compressor was so small that I could only spray for 15 to 20 seconds before having to wait to build up pressure. I mentioned to a friend who is the building trades, that I was in the market for larger compressor but i have very limited space in my garage. Instead of helping me find a compressor, he suggested a Graco electric sprayer. After watching some YouTube videos, I chose the True Coat 360 variable speed model and found it to be a perfect fit for me.

Do not buy unless you can solve issues easy. Installing paint. After every container fill You need a bucket of clean water to put the funnel and screen into or the paint will dry on these components and you will have to stop and clean them before the next refill. Consistency of your paint. If your using quality paint that is one coat and really thick the gun will labor to spray and you will be constantly shutting to down to clean and restart. After adding 10% water to my paint it worked much better. The priming process if it does not spray AT ALL then hold unit upside down, Turning the tip in reverse will help a clog but does nothing for a priming issue. You may have to continue this technique for each fill. If it primes, then you’re good to go until the next fill. After every fill it’s 50/50 if it primes. You need to keep moving or your project will completely stop. Using the unit upside down may be your only option. Clean up Run at least 2 containers of clear water through the unit until it sprays clear. The unit or gun itself is textured so cleaning the exterior of the gun is impossible. You have to power brush the gun to remove dried paint. It very time consuming. The spray tip protector can only be cleaned by scraping it with your finger nail or something not metal so you do not damage it. I used a wood Popsicle stick. The spray tips are very difficult to remove from the gun but necessary to clean properly. Again finger nail or Popsicle stick.

Hi The ADO, Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with the TrueCoat 360 Variable Speed. Depending on the time between cups, you can leave the funnel strainer hooked on the edge of the paint can. The TrueCoat 360 models are compatible with paints up to a 0.015 inch tip. While this covers most paints, there are some paints that will be incompatible. Regarding your priming issues, if it only sprays while upside down, that means there is an air leak present. Please check the seal on the VacuValve, and on the rim of the cup. For additional assistance, don't hesitate to call our Tech Support team at 888.541.9788 M-F 7:30-5:00 CST. -KR

Currently, I have only used it once to do a 7‘ x 11‘ room, walls and ceiling. I am very pleased with the quality, the Quickstart instructions, and being able to spray this room In relatively quick time. Clean up, took a little time to make sure all the paint was out of the gun. I believe it is a learning curve, I am, as I stated, well pleased.
