A: Hi Lauren, Thanks for your interest in the Haakaa Milk Collector. This product is not something that can replace an electric pump but rather should be used to help collect additional let down.

Think of it as a replacement for breast pads, where the ladybug catches dripping milk during letdowns rather than milk gathering into a breast pad. The suction is subtle enough that it only really works to hold the device to your breast, rather than drawing any milk out.

A: Hi Gina! Yes, you can wear the Ladybug all day. Just make sure to empty it every 2 hours, because breastmilk can be at room temperature for up to 4 hours and human body temperature is higher.

A: Yes, you can wear the Ladybugs overnight. We recommend keeping them nice and secure in a bra, and sleeping on the opposite side of the breast you are wearing the Ladybug on (i.e if it is on your right breast, sleep on your left side). If you are wearing two ladybugs, try to sleep on your back if you can. It's also important to note safe milk storage guidelines. As the Ladybug is worn against the body, the milk kept inside the Ladybug will be at a higher temperature than room temperature. According to CDC guidelines, breast milk can be stored at room temperature for up to 4 hrs. Since body temperature is higher than room temperature, we suggest to empty the Ladybug every 2-3 hrs.

Loved using for the first couple months.
LOVE her!!!! Collected my milk that otherwise would have been caught via breast pad. I would use it on the breast I wasn’t breastfeeding with. I had a couple spills but that was due to not suctioning it on the right way, you’ll get use to it through time! It’s so worth it: 1. IF you know you have overflow don’t think twice. 2. If you have a normal amount of milk usually just get it, it helps save every precious drop. 3. If this is on someone’s registry, get it. I’d like to add that this is not a pumping device for those who think it’ll suction out milk, it simply ‘collects’ and get suctioned on the skin.

Great little product
The reviews are a little confusing but the ladybug is not a “breast pump” it is a light suction device to catch letdown. The haakaa breast pump everyone is comparing the ladybug to is not the same kind of thing so don’t expect it to function as that product because you will be disappointed. With the ladybug as far as passively collecting milk it works fabulous. I use mine at home when I’m nursing on the other side. Make sure you have a nursing bra on to hold the ladybug otherwise you risk it detaching. It is not breast shaped so it won’t look natural but I think that’s a fine trade off for getting milk that would otherwise be wasted on a nursing pad.

Work great, but know what you're buying
These work perfectly well at what they are supposed to do, which is sit in your bra and passively collect milk from letdown/leaking. I particularly recommend them for showering, both as a way to collect milk *and* protect sensitive nipples from the spray. If you bought them expecting them to work like a pump, you’re definitely going to be disappointed because they’re not pumps and don’t claim to be.

Great Product
This is a great product for letdown. I use it while my baby is nursing to catch otherwise wasted milk. It sits in my bra and doesn’t move and I sometimes forget it’s in there. I have the original haaka and love that as well! I don’t think they are marketed as having the same suction, for all the people giving negative reviews. I use the original when my baby is not nursing and I need to release bc I feel engorged and use the ladybug to collect letdown.

Im a first time mom and this was recommended to me in a podcast. I do not recommend this. It’s shallow so it makes me nervous about leaking and spilling because it does not have a lid/stopper. Wish I bought the original haakaa instead

I use the original haakaa every day to passively collect milk and I love it. I bought this version to try and discretely collect while on vacation with my in-laws. It didn’t work at all. I could not get the same suction as with the original haakaa and I collected no milk. Additionally, it’s very hard to stand it up without falling and there’s no cover you can put on it to store in the fridge. I would not recommend this.

As a pumping and breast feeding mom, my let down would be fast and i would waste milk so i got these and it helped tremendously, i got 2 ounces of let down which was used for my baby’s bottles , these are a must have if you want to save your milk instead of using a cloth so you can reuse the ladybug

If I could give 10 stars I would!! As a new breastfeeding mom, I thankfully had friends to tell me about this “MUST HAVE”. I received one as a baby shower gift and recently bought another. I highly recommend having two. The suction overall is good and doesn’t loose suction unless you reach for something in the opposite direction. My two week old kicks mine sometimes and it doesn’t budge. * At first I was applying to much suction where there was a dent in the ladybug. I didn’t have any liquid good. Make sure the ladybug is filled out completely to collect all the liquid gold for you supply collection!

Bad suction

Waste of money. No good suction
I was so excited to purchase this HaaKaa bc I love the original ones but this one doesn’t have enough suction. The suction keeps breaking before I collect any milk. I collected 1 teaspoon. It was a waste of money. The original haakaa is awesome though. These are just a great idea but not effective. AND YOU CANNOT RETURN THEM! That’s the worst part.
