A: this isn’t meant as a water stopper it is to catch hair instead of letting it go down the drain or putting it on walls so the top part isn’t useless it is the part that catches the hair and makes it easy to remove

A: Hello! Our Hair Catch Drain Protector is designed for use with bathtubs, as it sits down inside of the drain. The item does come apart easily to dispose of any hair. Then, you can hand wash the item with soap and water or clean it by using a cleaning product.

SPECIFICATIONS ARE WRONG.
The listing states the diameter is 1.25 to 1.8 inches. Unfortunately, I trusted this listing and did NOT look at the dimensions to confirm before purchasing in a store nearby. The diameter is actually 1.5 to 1.8 inches and does not fit in my "standard sink.

This drain device is not able to be closed to stop water. This was not mentioned in the decription. I cannot use it so I will be returning it. IT is poorly made, mostly silicone an very flexible.

Doesn’t REALLY great job catching hair. But then, you have to pull it out and wrestle the hair off the rubbery flange. That hair will be coated in everything that went down the drain. Hair products, soap scum, etc. So that’s just nasty. But again, it really catches so much hair so it’s maybe worth it to you.

Not a drain stopper but a good hair catcher
This definitely is not a drain stopper. I bought this item because it was advertised as a drain stopper as well as a hair catcher and I thought that would be awesome to have everything in one product so I didn’t mind spending a little bit more money. However, this is made of a sturdy silicone, which is great it’s been holding up well but it’s too firm to push down and use as a stopper. It just pops right back up. Disappointed at that aspect because I still need a drain stopper.

This design is weird and gets moldy so quickly. The top pet catches most of the hair but then it’s so hard to get the hair out of the bottom part as well. It also hold water and gets moldy within like 3 months.

$14 for a cheap piece of plastic. you’d expect it to last you longer for such a simple purpose. The silicone was falling apart the strainer plastic part after normal use. It just sits there and it still managed to fall apart. It pulls hairs fairly well but catches on soap scum WAY better which clogs the tub. You need to scrub it off every few days for the water to seep through properly. Not easy to clean so very tedious. I’m sure there is a better design to be made so I’ll be trying something else this time around.

After trying various things to prevent hair from clogging. The drain, finally found this and it works great for me. It doesn't stop the water from going down so It won't work. If you want to fill a bathtub. I use this in my shower stall and it does not slow the water at all from going down. I make it a point to clean it every 2 weeks, and it isn't difficult to pull the hair out and sanitize it with a Clorox type wipe. I give this hair catch drain protector a thumbs up!

Not sure why this has such mixed reviews! I have curly hair so a lot comes off when I shower. I’ve tried a lot of different hair catchers and this one works best for our specific tub drain! Of course these will get moldy over time but if you scrub it once in a while it honestly gets moldy slower than all other silicone ones I’ve tried. I really like how there are two barriers to going down the drain, and both are easy enough to get the hair out of!

Misleading description
The only stainless steel bit is the circular disc on top, which is only decorative - the rest of the item is a rigid “silicone” that feels like hard plastic, and when it eventually breaks, it will end up in a landfill for 500 years, or worse, the belly of a whale or other unsuspecting aquatic wildlife. Returned.
