The OXO Hair Catch Drain Protector makes cleaning the shower easier, neater and more pleasant than ever. Constructed in two pieces, simply place the base into the drain and then insert the topper. To remove, lift the topper from the base, no reinstallation required. With a flexible silicone catching cone, removing hair from your shower drain has never been swifter.   • A: this isn’t meant as a water stopper it is to catch hair instead of letting it go down the drain or putting it on walls so the top part isn’t useless it is the part that catches the hair and makes it easy to remove

Works great, be aware you have to remove + clean after each shower

I have long hair and was tired of manually unclogging the drain every few weeks. This device works well at capturing hair + debris. It reduces the speed at which water drains in the shower and causes just a little bit of standing water (I’m talking under a centimeter just around the drain), even with no debris inside. I have to remove the drain protector and take the two pieces apart after each and every shower to avoid just a tiny bit of standing water left in the tub. I pull it out, take it apart, wipe all the hair/debris off, rinse it with water, and spray it (and the inside of the drain) with a natural shower cleaner to keep it from getting gross. I’m surprised by the amount of hair this catches each time, so if you have long hair and use this device, you should probably clean it each time as well. It’s worked very well so far. Just be aware this is probably something you have to maintain with each shower. I prefer doing this over manually unclogging my drain every so often.

SPECIFICATIONS ARE WRONG.

The listing states the diameter is 1.25 to 1.8 inches. Unfortunately, I trusted this listing and did NOT look at the dimensions to confirm before purchasing in a store nearby. The diameter is actually 1.5 to 1.8 inches and does not fit in my "standard sink.
