Find another stopper
This is my 2nd time purchasing this stopper. Unfortunately, I will not purchase another one because both times the bottom “plunger” came apart, got stuck in my drain, and after 10 minutes I had to remove it with a kitchen knife. This product cost way too much money for that to be happening. I also purchased the strainer as well the tip keeps coming unglued which allows all types of food to go down the drain. I am so disappointed in this product!!

Simple, useful kitchen tool that saves space
I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review. The OXO 2-in-1 strainer and stopper is really convenient and easy to use. I like that it works as both a strainer and a stopper, so I don’t need multiple tools. It fits well, drains quickly, and feels sturdy. It’s simple but very practical and definitely useful to have in the kitchen.

better and improved from the version i bought five years ago
bought another one after the one i had broke after five years. bought a different version and the lip was too thick. the debris would stop at the lip, not flow over. rebought my previous one and the metal ring had an improvement of added silicone and now all the food flows into the basket, added bonus that it actually stops my sink and holds water

Doesn't drain well and stops water too easily
Doesn't drain well. Also, when it's "open" and draining, the handle is up and if you even tap it, it plugs the drain so if you have even a couple of dishes you are rinsing and one touches the handle, it plugs and fills your sink so you have to reach under all of the dishes to try to pull the handle up again. Bad design.

Not a good solution
Not good enough or durable. I am already looking for a replacement and see that I just bought this one barely 10 months ago. It is difficult to clean, it gets clogged easily and becomes slimy, and it also doesn't drain very well unless it is very clean because the bottom holes are the smallest. I have tried hand washing and machine washing and neither seems better for it. I went to buy a new one and talk about inflation!! It went from $9.99 to $11.99 in 10 months (Dec 2024 to Oct 2025). Rethinking alternate solutions because I don't think that is worth it but I don't care for the metal strainers.

does not drain well, not easy to clean
I was looking for an improvement over the standard metal strainers, these are not an improvment. My main complaint is that they don't drain well, they clog up very quickly, much faster than the normal metal ones do. I think they clog because the catch area is too small. The plastic part gets slimy as well. I have put them in the dishwasher and that doesn't seem to clean them at all, so they just have to be washed by hand.

Works fine for us
we've never had any issues with this. it plugs our drain perfectly; the water stays at the exact same level for hours. it stops way more from going down our drain than a traditional stop does. it's a real pain to clean the underside but it's worth it for the plug function.

Faulty OXO sink strainer
Don't waste your money on this sink strainer with stopper. It's difficult to use and doesn't stay in place. Save yourself the frustration.
