Right out of the box, I was happy to see that the fabric is a good weight with nice texture-velvet sleeves and bodice, and the skirt has enough heft to not be see-thru. There is a side zipper to make putting it on and taking it off easier. I am 5'5" and with a low heel, the skirt would be perfect length to allow my toes to peep out. The cape snaps onto the shoulders and is also a nice fabric that will flow well. The problems are: there is a tulle type of stuffing in the sleeves that pokes out of the satin lining and it's extremely itchy and scratchy. Also, the stand-up collar is awkward and floppy. Where it meets the top of the dress, the seam shows and ruins the effect. If I had a sewing machine and the inclination, I could work with it, but I don't. Sadly this must go back.
