A: The poaching 3-egg nonstick tray is metal, not plastic. The tray for cooking the 7 eggs upright is plastic.

Nice little egg cooker, makes eggs fast! I only have one issue… it comes w a measuring cup to determine how much water to put in the cooker. The lettering is so tiny stamped into clear plastic it is near impossible to read! I tried it under bright light, daylight, using my iPhone’s magnifying glass app… it is still near impossible to read!
I have used mine almost every day for over a year now. Love it so much I bought four more for my kids. They love it too.

For those who have water sediment in the bottom just let a little white vinegar sit in it for a few minutes and it will rinse out clean. Use a magic marker to mark the desired amount of water once you find it.( it is hard to see) Can't beat the price

Before today, I would have given this product 4 stars. Once I got through the trial & error with the measuring cup, it made great poached eggs. My only other quibble was that the round tops on the lid & poacher tray were difficult to pick up while hot. After the last use, the round handle on the poacher tray was wobbly. I thought the screw just needed to be tightened. Turns out, the plastic underneath was crumbling - and today, I ended up with a poached egg with black plastic pieces & shards in it. The knob snapped off completely when I went to take a closer look. Yikes.

We loved this thing. hard boiled eggs for snack time and poached eggs for breakfast made easy. After 6 months of regular use (about 3 times a week) the eggs stopped cooking evenly and the handle on the poaching tray snapped off. ultimately very disappointing.

This works fantastic for me time after time. 100+ perfectly cooked eggs so far and not a single one with issues peeling. A lot of people have said that their water stains the base, but I believe it is actually residue of whatever substance coats eggshells being removed by the steam. I wipe the dish with a wet paper towel as it finishes and it stays clean. If there were a single complaint - it would be the annoying alarm sound that bores at your brain until you do something about it.

My old one automatically shut off - a very nice feature. This one has a really FAINT beep when the eggs are done - you'll never hear it if you're not in the room. The markings on the water cup are difficult to read even with glasses. And, yes - the water holder stained after my single usage, although I will admit I have hard water. That having been said, the eggs do come out perfectly, and they peel reasonably easily. (I skip the cold water bath and just put them in a bowl).

It seemed to cook the eggs but the timer never went off...I had to guess when they were finished. Also, the measuring cups printing was so light colored and pale I had to ask someone to read it for me. Going back to try another brand!

This is my second egg cooker. LOVE IT! Makes perfect hard boiled eggs that PEEL! The poached eggs come out great and are so easy. Suggest breaking egg into small dish first, then pouring into poacher compartment. Less mess. Highly recommend.
