An alternate title for this great book might be, How to Become a Tzaddekess within Your Comfort Zone. It's a 'positive thinking' book, but much more, and very palatable as you go along. I wouldn't have expected any less, having been exposed to Tova Younger's fresh, uplifting, original and very happy style as editor of the defunct Yated Ne'eman International Edition. Here, too, she guides the reader in self improvement in so many areas: Meaningful davening through very practical tips that are easy to incorporate in your daily rapport with HaShem; efficiency tips in so many areas, like doing chessed for others and not losing out. This book cannot be read in one sitting and certainly not because it is boring or sermonizing. On the contrary, because it is so downright interesting, stimulating and has such great ideas, you will have to digest each precious page, internalize and put them into practice, like the handbook it is. This book encompasses everything, from the kitchen sink straight to Heaven. In "Train Your Brain" she quotes the Bubby who was asked which modern convenience she considered indispensible. "The kitchen faucet..." she replied. How does she take it from there? Her first 'appliance' is tefilla; the second is your brain, with very practical advice on directing your thoughts, improving your memory.
