Hape My First Blocks - 80pc

Multiple pieces are entirely warped such that their surface is so uneven that when trying to stack blocks, others slide off. Pieces are grossly uneven in size, so if trying to construct anything, you need to search for pieces that are of the same size. This is obviously not reasonable to expect from a young child. Very poor quality control. i am surprised at the poor quality from this brand. I am including a picture of one warped block (difficult to demonstrate in a photo with these small pieces).

These are nice but small. The box says 12+ months but should say 3+ years because many of the pieces are small enough to be a choking hazard. (All the pieces can fit through a toilet paper tube.) I only let my son play with the longest pieces and had to squirrel the other pieces (2/3 to 3/4 of the set) away for another 2+ years!

These blocks are made from quality materials, as to be expected from the Hape brand, but they have been very disappointing. The finish is durable, but super slippery so the blocks are very difficult to build with. We were surprised to discover that these are almost entirely cubes - The photo on the front gave the impression that there would be a great variety of shapes. We wish there were a lot more of the fun shapes.

Smooth finish. Good size for small hands to grasp but not so small that they’re a choking hazard. I wish they had more of the bridge pieces, there aren’t that many of these. I also wish they were available in an all natural (not colored) option as well. In general a great set.

My 10 month old loves these excellent quality colorful blocks. At this stage, knocking them down, rolling them around and “tasting” them have kept him very content. These blocks seem very suited to the stages little ones grow into. I see them providing creative fun and entertainment for quite a while.

The colors are rich and lovely, and this was a great value for a sturdy and timeless block set with a nice variety of shapes. The blocks are on the smaller side, so if you’re looking for big blocks for a younger toddler, this probably isn’t it. However, it is a great and classic block set that will get years of use in our home.

Nice and well made block set. A few of the blocks are smaller than the others and the overall color scheme is very mild. I had purchased a similar set from Hape a few years ago and they are all brightly colored and uniform in size, hence only four stars

My toddlers love playing with these blocks. I bought two boxes because the price point is great. They are played with daily!

These blocks are so cute, and my kids love them. They are a little smaller than I expected though, making them hard to stack for my youngest, but he will grow into them.

I really like this block set! They seem to be of a nice quality, and I like the shape sorting storage container. It’s a cardboard box, so I don’t expect it to last forever, but I don’t mind putting them in another bin anyway. There’s a good number of blocks. Some are a little small, but they’re a good size for my 15-month-old. They are a little tricky to stack because they’re painted, but he still enjoys them. All around, a great product!

I was looking forward to playing with my 18 month old son and his new block set. Unfortunately, the blocks are too small and he put a whole block in his mouth as soon as I opened them. I would not recommend these due to their size!

Nice quality for the price, but for “first blocks” with a 12m+ age, they contained all of the same small blocks as the 3+ set I was hoping to replace until my son was older.

Love the colors and different shapes. The box and lid help sort the blocks which is nice. I find that they are almost too slick to stack

Such a wonderful toy! The whole material is gorgeous wood and a nicely painted color. My little one is absolutely in love with this.

My son loved this! I love that they are wood and not plastic. They are sturdy and stack flat. A great toy for building motor skills. Highly recommend.

As a former Earlychildhood/Elementary teacher I highly recommend purchasing this set of building blocks. A good set of building blocks in early elementary education is a staple, and the quality of these blocks in the sturdy storage container is an unbeatable value. My Grandchildren use them daily and I cannot say enough about the exceptional quality of paint and materials of these blocks. The container has a sturdy sorting top and cleanup is a fun activity. I look forward to purchasing more Hape products for my grandchildren in the future.

My son loves this block set. The paint quality is excellent and greatly appreciated because my son is at the stage where he loves to explore everything with his little mouth! What I love about the block set is that even clean up is fun because we can put the blocks back into the bucket through the "shape sorter" lid.

Love, love, love the colors and the retail box is a storage container and the top is a shape sorter!!! My 22 month old loves discovering the shapes and putting them in the shape sorter. Love this so much!!

This is a beautiful set! We love Hape toys quality and so happy to find it at Target.
