Such a beautiful doll

Bought two (2) Healthy Roots Zoe dolls and the hair was advertised as Human hair, however, after combing the hair once the tracks are falling apart and the hair feels and looks synthetic. Could just imagine if it was washed. Totally disappointed since these were bought only on the 17th June, 2025 almost 2 weeks ago, as gifts that my granddaughters wanted for Christmas. After paying $174.18 usd for these two items that are not as advertised and poorly made I'm left dissatisfied.

Beautiful doll, well made, high quality. I bought this for my granddaughter and she loves it. I often find it in her bed when I go to take care of her. I am hopeful that Target will do a 180 and bring their Diversity, Equity, Inclusion program back. It would be so sad if they cut this line of dolls simply because of the king of the United States. It’s so important for children to see that people come in all shapes, sizes, religions, skin colors, and gender identities.

The hair!! As a black woman I truly love and support my people but I want my money back. My daughter plays with her but even at 7 years old she comments on how thin the hair is. It comes out more and more with each comb while she plays with her. The doll does not depict us properly. The way they just threw tracks on the plastic head is mind boggling. They need to recreate this doll and give us our money back. At max this should cost only $10 as it is equivalent to the dollar general brand.

Not a “Healthy Root” in site. You would think that a product being marketed to the BIPOC community with extra attention being made about hair care and styling would know better than to glue some cheap tracks to a plastic head and charge $85 for it. Even the $12 baby dolls at Target have rooted hair, there is no acceptable excuse as to why this design wasn’t rejected by every single person involved in creating it. Making young girls try to comb and style messy tracks is just wrong on so many levels. 1. Redesign with ROOTED hair 2. Make them affordable for everyone 3. Fire everyone that cheered for sloppy weave tracks on an $85 doll.

My daughter has wanted this doll for over a year. It was the main thing on her Christmas list. We were thrilled to get it for her this year and she was happy. Once she started to play with her, the hair was definitely not what it is marketed as. She is supposed to have hair similar to 4c and you are supposed to be able to style it in various ways etc. The hair is very thin and it is also placed in a way where it’s hard to get the initial part back. The layout of the tracks needs to be revisited under the company’s quality control. It seems very haphazard and there are even tracks showing in the very front of her hair. Don’t get me wrong we know this is a doll, but what is marketed and what we received just didn’t match up. We want this company to be successful and we need black dolls, but there are revisions that need to be made to this doll in particular, I cannot speak about the whole healthy roots line. The doll also does not sit up and just slides down each time. Hoping this review is taken into consideration by the manufacturer.

I honestly cannot tell you about this doll because I HAVE NOT RECEIVED IT! It was ordered over two weeks ago and no package YET!!!

I think I swapped the photos on these, but my girls got Zoe and Gianna and they have asked for Marisol now, too. They are gorgeous high quality dolls and they are the favorites (got AG as well and they are not getting played with). They love washing their hair in the sink and then styling it! Fits the AG and OneGen clothing great, too. Just ordered them Marisol ❤️🙌🏻

This was a huge disappointment. We’ve wanted this doll for a while. It was a birthday surprise. The hair immediately started to fall out when I looked at the hair it looks as if someone glued weave tracks to the dolls head definitely not worth $80.

My daughter loves this doll and how authentic she is. The hair has her completely in awe of it she doesn't play with her American Girl dolls at all but this one, she loves.

My daughter loves the idea of the doll and loves that she looks like her. However, the hair is absolutely terrible and tacky. It is literally thin glued in tracks. For the money, i definitely expected better quality. We have dolls that are much less expensive that are of better quality.

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed in this doll. It was no better than a $30 doll.I purchased for Christmas 2022. She was beautiful and I loved the natural hair concept but, the hair was awful! Worse than the cheaper dolls purchased. I commented and provided photos on one of the creators social media post and she made no effort to satisfy the complaint. She was however reaching out to the Lee family to send a free doll. Buyer beware. I took a chance after seeing bad reviews. I wish I had not for the price paid

Very disappointing, hair comes out with every brush. My daughter was so excited to get this doll, now she’s bald and looks a hot mess. This is the worst purchase ever. I really wanted to love this doll.

I purchased this doll for my 5 year old daughter. The doll is great and she loves it however it is not at all what I expected. You can wash her hair as advertised however the hair gets easily tangled and matted. Once you start combing the hair it comes out easily and the texture changes. The hair is glued or sewn in making it impossible to part the hair from the scalp. Although it is a great learning tool for young children I would say for the amount of money I paid I expected more.

I love the doll over all, but the hairline (front) is rough, not even with scalp and done poorly.

False advertising why would glue or sew hair weave to a wig cap ! Therefore that's was tacky how can you wash it like you advertised!!

This doll is nothing that it's hyped up to be definitely not worth $80. The hair is no where as long as I thought it would be or as pictured.Its literally bundles glued on a cap or something. I thought it would be like growing from the scalp,And it tankles and sheds very badly not sure if it's really human hair. I wish I could return it. She's pretty but the hair is horrible when you put it in pony tails they are really short.

I purchased this doll for my niece and the hair is now fallling out or combs out and this should not be. She only had the doll for less than 30 days and the hair was fallingout. I was going to purchase another doll for her sister but with this happeniong after 30 days of having this doll I will not be purchasing another.

I really wanted to like this doll but the quality of the hair is lacking. I purchased for my daughter and was excited to have a doll she could practice hair on. The hair was awkward tracks from the start and quickly became matted even after following the limited guidance we could find. I hope that the quality can improve in the future but not currently worth the money.

I dislike the hair. It only lasts for about six months. It falls out. You can’t style it the way it’s advertised.
