A: Hi, the remote control needs two AAA batteries. But the gecko itself charges with a fairly common USB cable. We used the one from our Nintendo Switch to charge the toy, and it charged quickly.

A: It stays on the wall through air suction (little vacuum). It is not sticky and it did not leave marks on our wall. It is a bit loud because of the motor for the suction.

Really Delivers the "Wow!" Factor
This is definitely a toy for our modern times. We enjoy the clever idea and how this reptilian little pal adheres and climbs along the wall, and even on the ceiling. Like other customers, I was skeptical until I actually watched our gecko climb up the tall wall in our stairwell. The one limitation I wish to mention is that I think the remote or the receiver have a range limitation. What that means is that when the gecko reached a certain height on our wall, it would not keep climbing up but instead it kept climbing in an arc to the side. But for us, it is not a showstopper. We are really pleased with this purchase. It is a lot more fun than having the real thing crawling on our wall or ceiling and then having to catch it and humanely escort it outside, lol.

It does climb the walls!
Okay so I didn’t have super high expectations and figured it would get played with Christmas morning and done, but it’s actually really fun and can actually climb the walls. Things to know: 1. It is super thin plastic to keep it light weight so it might not be great for kids who are hard on their toys 2. It creates a vacuum to climb the walls so it is a little noisy - it’s sounds like a tiny vacuum or small air pump. 3. You need a wall with some space. We knocked pictures off the wall playing with it. But we could get it to run across the ceiling Overall it was a lot of fun!
