Honeytrap - by Sarah MacLean (Paperback)

Book Synopsis

Gemma Seabury has made a name for herself in and outside the world of academia for her research on post-Cold War honeytrap spies--the femme fatales deployed by intelligence agencies around the world to vanquish enemies and collect state secrets. Her work around The Pleiades, a mysterious collection of women who disappeared without a trace in the early-90s has made her the darling of a brilliant documentarian...and turned her into an unlikely celebrity.

Overwhelmed by newfound and unwelcome fame, Gemma escapes to her family's cottage in Small Point, Rhode Island--a tiny seaside town at the end of the earth, known for its sleepy farms, untouched beaches and lack of reliable cell service. With its gorgeous views, buzzing cicadas and a handsome new neighbor who seems like the perfect summer bliss, there's no doubt that Small Point is the ideal place to hide for a while, especially when it's revealed that Gemma has been gifted a mysterious cabin overlooking the Atlantic, full of secrets she never expected to uncover. Secrets that, when revealed, throw everything she believes into chaos, and make summer bliss a thing of the past.

Worse, Gemma's captured the notice of a motley crew of old friends, true crime podcasters, local law enforcement, and the biggest small-town criminal around--who just happens to be her father. All that, and her handsome neighbor is starting to feel more than casual. Soon, Gemma's discovering that her connection to the past is neither distant nor purely academic--it's her living, breathing present...and if she's not careful, she'll be wrapped up in a history that she'll never be able to escape.
