About the Book

"When little dinosaurs get angry, they sometimes misbehave. But after a dinosaur storms around the house, it's time to calm down. Book Synopsis

R-O-A-R! What happens when little dinosaurs get mad, mad, MAD? And how do they take a deep breath and calm down?

When little dinosaurs get angry, they sometimes misbehave. Readers will laugh aloud and relate to all the dinosaur-sized antics, from stomping and yelling to tantrums and meltdowns. But after a dinosaur storms around the house, it's time to calm down. That's when a dinosaur knows to count to ten, clean up the mess... and give big hugs, of course! Mama and Papa don't like outbursts but they always love their children.

The award-winning team of Yolen and Teague have created a fun, engaging book sure to help children handle anger and frustration. Everybody gets mad sometimes. Parents, educators, and children can talk about it.

With the same warmth, charm, and humor in all the bestselling How Do Dinosaurs books, here is the perfect way to say, "I'm sorry -- and I love you." Now in board book, perfect for little hands!

Review Quotes

"...sometimes kids need help learning how to manage their emotions, and who better to help them than giant temper tantrum-throwing dinosaurs? If they can learn to control themselves, so can your children." -- Huffington Post

"...not only will this title be a favorite at storytime, it may also serve as a discussion starter about feelings and how best to express and cope with them." -- Kirkus Reviews

"A solid, welcome addition to the series." -- Booklist

"As in the previous books, proper behavior -- including hugs, apologies, and neatening up -- closes out the book. Good advice on handling albertosaurus-size bad moods." -- Publishers Weekly

"Yolen creates a wonderful story arc using one or two sentences per page. The illustrations, made with acrylics in muted hues, jump off the page... Pair this outstanding title with Molly Bang's classic When Sophie Gets Angry-Really, Really Angry" -- School Library Journal

I love this series, but this title disappointed me. There are 9 pages of what not to do, followed by counting to ten, picking up his mug (which he threw), saying sorry, and giving his mom a hug. I was hoping for more practical suggestions for toddlers dealing with anger and frustration.
