About the Book

Follow along as eleven different dinosaur children and their prehistoric parents give a big kiss, turn out the light, tuck in their tails, and whisper "good night."

Book Synopsis

Perfect for bedtime reading, children love the laugh-aloud antics of playful Tyrannosaur-sized dinosaur children who stomp and fuss and jump on the bed in this award-winning New York Times bestseller!

Celebrate the 20th anniversary of one of the most popular good-night books ever. Simple verse and hilarious illustrations present common scenes of sly humor as enormous dinosaur children yawn and fuss and throw their toys about-before finally going to sleep.

Wildly popular, this book set off an award-winning series with more than 15 million books in print, and it's still going strong. Children will find the name of each dinosaur hidden in the pictures, which are a delight from start to finish. Be prepared to read it again and again!

Our Favorite of the Series

Can’t remember if we purchased this or it was a registry gift but this is a fantastic book. The rhymes are great, the meter is spot on for every page, and the illustrations are an absolute delight. We have several of the How Does a Dinosaur series and so far this is the best. And kiddo seems to like this one the best too. We ask him if he “wants to read dinosaur book” and this is the one he grabs.

Great bed time story

I rate this book 5/5 stars. I purchased it as a gift for a 2 year old boy, the language, story line, and illustrations seemed age appropriate. I would purchase this for sure for my own children.

Great Bedtime Story, Poor Packaging

The book itself is lovely; it’s cute, fun, and perfect for bedtime. I took off one star because of the packaging. Several board books were shipped together in a single box with no padding, and this one arrived with slightly chipped corners. A small piece of the top cover layer had come off in one corner and was found in the box, which pointed to the poor packaging. After seeing what happened to this book, I checked the others in the box and their corners are also a bit beat up, though not as noticeably chipped as this one. The damage doesn’t affect the story, and since it’s going to a toddler the wear is minor enough that it’ll still be fine as a gift. Still, I would’ve preferred it to arrive in better condition. Target definitely needs to improve their packaging for board books.

Book is great, who ever packed the box was careless

The book is wonderful, perfect for a Dino lover. However, the person packing the order was careless, all the books were just thrown in with other items. One came badly crushed at the spine, another got sliced with a box cutter.
