About the Book
"A little girl tries to count all the squirrels in her neighborhood"--Book Synopsis
A lively, humorous counting book featuring a kid trying to keep up with a load of sassy squirrels. Some days it seems like there are squirrels everywhere! When a curious little girl decides she must find out exactly how many there are, her mission has her searching high and low, counting squirrels all over town. Only problem is, these frisky squirrels sure move around. Will she ever get a grip on the squirrely squirrel number situation? In this lively count-along book, Ben Gundersheimer's playful rhyming text, based on a song from his album Pizza for Breakfast, pairs perfectly with Marcos Almada Rivero's funny, eye-catching illustrations. As children marvel over our heroine's persistence, they will have fun spotting oodles of rambunctious squirrels.About the Author
Ben Gundersheimer (bengundersheimer.com, MisterGsongs.com) is a Latin GRAMMY Award-winning artist, author and educator. Hailed as "a bilingual rock star" by The Washington Post and "irresistible" by People magazine, he was originally dubbed MISTER G by his young students while pursuing a Master of Education degree. He is also the author of Señorita Mariposa, based on a song from his album Chocolalala, and Lilah Tov Good Night, based on a song from his album The Mitzvah Bus. MISTER G tours internationally, performing in venues such as Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, New Orleans Jazz Fest, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. His dynamic, interactive bilingual performances aim to dissolve borders and foster cross-cultural connections. He lives in the woods of Western Massachusetts with his wife, Katherine, rescue mutt, Josie, and cat, Chloe Bird. Marcos Almada Rivero (marcosalmadailustrador.blogspot.com) also collaborated with Ben Gundersheimer on Señorita Mariposa and has written and illustrated several Spanish picture books, including the Oscar the Opossum series, and created the artwork for Ben Gundersheimer's albums. He has degrees in communication (specializing in audiovisual media and animation) and children's literature, and works on animation projects as a writer, illustrator, art director, and animator. He lives in Mexico, where he leads workshops on books and animation at book fairs, movie festivals, and for children in underserved communities.Dimensions (Overall): 10.7 Inches (H) x 8.2 Inches (W) x .4 Inches (D)
