My 4 year old loves this book! Mostly playing with the sequins. My only complaint would be that on the inside pages of the book, you can’t flip the sequins over. And if any of them are up when you close the book, it doesn’t close properly and squishes them.

Spent 20 minutes in the boom section with my 4 year old looking for a girl book for secret santa. It was hard to find a good girly book under 20$ that also wasn’t a baby book or chapter one. As soon as I saw the sequins I knew my daughter was going to pick it. They don’t change that easily but that’s okay. I like the hard cover of it and how colorful it is. The story is nice too and rhymes. I know whatever little girl gets this at Secret Santa is going to love it!

This books seems like it would be super cute! But I don’t recommend it, the execution is sub-par. The ink transfers from one page to the next, the is font very busy and quite hard to read - especially for little ones working on identifying letters, and the two-way sequins only work on the book cover based on how they are affixed under the cardboard pages, which is frustrating for my kids when they want to change the sequin colors. Some of the sequins do come off, which is unsafe. Additionally, there is no plot, it is just a collection of rhymes. On a positive note, it is gender neutral, the llamas inside are both male and female. It has cute imagery, some of which are inspired by indigenous South American patterns/aesthetic.

One of my little ones favorite books. Hours of fun changing sequin colors with the brush of her hand and sweet little rhymes to go along with it.
