Why can’t they just make the box big enough to hold the game in an assembled form? When did the “gold ball” thing happen? Why are the hippos so dang flimsy? Did I get stronger as an adult? These are the questions I ponder. My kids love it tho, I just wish it wasn’t such a pain in the (hippo) neck to put away.

I want to love this because it brings back childhood memories. However, this is a piece of junk! This had been resigned so the hippos can be mounted onto the main board and dismounted with the idea to be a space saver when putting away. Well, the hippos continually detach from the board EVEN properly installed. There isn’t enough of a clip “lip” to keep attached when playing. Soooo disappointed!

The game isn’t as durable as the original game from the 70’s and 80’s. Parts are warped and don’t connect securely. The balls don’t roll to the middle due to the plastic is flimsy. Going to look for an original.

We got this for Christmas for our 4 & 2 year olds, they both are capable of playing and it’s been a lot of fun. The materials are plastic and not super durable but nothing has broken for us and we’ve played it almost every day for a week. Set up is easy and clean up and storage is easy and compact.

This version of Hungry Hippos is a massive dissapointment. In theory it assembles and dissasembles. In practice, it's poorly made and barely stays together in any configuration. This is even more important when the marble holder doesn't stay attached and pieces are all loose in the box.

Horrible redesign... Should have left it rigid. I understand their idea to make it a little more compact but it is a royal pain because it just falls apart as soon as you start playing.

I Bought this for my nephew for Christmas at a discount. The hippos were difficult to pop into place, but we enjoyed playing the game once they were in. Glad I got this game at a discount. The older version was of better quality.

We were so excited to play this with our kids. The Blue Hippo never worked properly, and the rest stopped lifting their heads after a couple of days. Really hard to press hard on the levers to even get them to work. Would not buy again.
I was disappointed in the quality of the game. It is cheap and doesn't work as well as I thought it would. The hippos don't move quite well after hitting the thing on their back.
