The fan makes a loud humming noise and swings when put on high speed. A screw was missing. Could that be the problem?

The fans are less than what I expected. This model has a hum that might be annoying. Not having a remote also is a negative because when pulling the chain, the fan wobbles. Should've opted for an upgraded model. I almost feel like swapping them out.

Oh no, our fans should not hum. At Hunter, our fans are designed and tested not to hum. We would be happy to help troubleshoot this issue and get it resolved. Please note that with a pull chain fan, it is normal for the fan to move slightly when pulling the pull chains. We also want to let you know that you can add a remote to this fan if you prefer to operate the fan and light with a remote instead of the pull chains. Very attractive. Love its old school qualities: that you can change the lightbulbs to your taste and control it without a remote. Very quiet. Seems well built.
