A: The Am@z@n page for this item says it comes with an extender. It does not say how long the extender is. Several reviewers state that they have been able to use this fan in a recessed socket.

I like that it cools off the small areas. I thought it was a tad bigger but it definitely does the job for the spaces I needed it in. And it helped me alleviate a lamp in my office as well as making it unnecessary for replacing the recess light fixture in my spaces. Easy to assemble and plug in.

I would and did buy this product twice
At first I bought just one of these ceiling fans and light and when I received it and put it up, I fell in love with what it could do. I therefore sent for another one for my kitchen so that when it gets really hot weather wise, I have two fans in my kitchen to keep cool and it will come in handy for canning season.

I didn't pay attentions to product.
I got this for a friend. I didn't realize that the ceiling had to have a screw in socket. My friend can't use it and I'm not sure how many houses still have that kind of socket. I hate to send things back so am going to see if I can find someone who could use it.

I bought 4 of these. When the 1st arrived all I had to do was unscrew my light bulb and screw in the fan. The remote came with a battery so instant service. Three speeds and 3 light settings makes it ideal in any setting

What a great fan!
I have corners in my apartment and the air flow is not that great. So, after purchasing and installing the Socket Fanlight, there is much more air flow and its cooler now so I don't have to add another air conditioner. That light is really bright and the fact that it has 3 levels of brightness is great! I would purchase another one if I had another socket to put it in.

Product Excellent but Remote Control Doesn't Work
We have ordered several Bell and Howell light/fan products from Collections Etc. The Bell and Howell product would work great if Collections would send the correct remote control. I don't know where they are getting their remote but only 50% of the remotes work the fan portion of the fixture. We ended up calling Bell and Howell and they sent us remotes that work. I recommend the product but don't buy it from Collections Etc.
