submitted byMegan - 5 years agoTarget staff supportA: Thank you for your interest with the product and we do not recommend placing the product in a washing machine. We do although suggest the following for bath mat care and maintenance. To prevent build up on your mat or on your tub, we recommend cleaning the mat regularly. To clean the underside of the mat, lay it down in the tub upside down. Spray a non-bleach household cleaner on the mat and allow to sit for 15-20 minutes. Then scrub it with a scrub brush that would be used for a tub or shower walls. For tougher stains allow the cleaner to stand for 30 minutes or longer. Lifting, rinsing and hanging to dry after each use will help to reduce the amount of build up on the mat or tub. To clean any marks on your tub we would recommend using a standard tub cleaner. A cleaner that specifically removes stains or uses an abrasive safe for tubs would be the best option. Ensure to follow the cleaner's use instructions.

Husband slipped, broke his foot
Well this bathmat really set us up to fail. I got this for our tub as an extra precaution, but it actually made it more dangerous. The suction cups aren’t very good, some will stick but most of them didn’t, creating the illusion of safety but a much more dangerous surface to step on. This bath mat resulted in my husband falling in the shower, bruising his ribs, and shattering one of his toes in the tub. We’re at least $4,000 out now in orthopedic surgeries and still recovering. Buyer beware, this shouldn’t even be for sale. Soooo not worth the risk. Buy a mat with reallly good suction, not these cheap ones.

Mold magnet
Absolutely loved this mat until mold took over. Cleaning it regularly and pulling it up after use did nothing. Soaking it bleach killed the mold but did nothing for the staining around the suction cups which I apparently ruined with the bleach because it never stuck again.

If you like to shower while standing on rocks, then this is the bath mat for you. Seriously, I don't know how this made it all the way to store shelves. It's so hard and uncomfortable to stand on, my feet were in pain after 30 seconds of standing on this. I will give it points for the color, it is pretty, Save your money and buy something else.

Sticks but hurts to stand on
This is my 3rd shower mat in less than a year. I had to throw out my previous softer Target-bought one after just after a few months because it became a moldhouse. The one before that had a strong plastic smell that wouldn’t go away so it was returned. I am hoping the open-ring pattern makes this one easier to clean in my poorly-ventilated apartment. It has no strong smell either. This one also has great suction on my shower wall to hang up post-shower. The only downside so far to me is that the mat is hard and uncomfortable to stand on while in the shower. Worth a try.

waste of money
I never write reviews but i'm wishing i had looked this up before spending 15 dollars, it is horrible! does not suction to the tub at all and it is incredibly painful to stand on i could not even finish my shower, just bought today and will be returning tomorrow. A waste of money.

Doesn't suction at all
Doesn't suction at all. We have a coating on the bottom of our tub in our apartment building bathroom. Maybe it was that, but I doubt it. It doesn't work, don't waste your money.
