A: Hi Shannon, yes it's possible to keep your insulin cool for 23 hours. Use the right cooler size: Choose a cooler that fits the amount of insulin. A smaller, well-packed cooler retains cold better than an oversized one. Use enough ice or ice packs: For extended cooling, use 2–3 times the volume of insulin in ice or cold packs. Aim for 3X for best results. Pre-chill everything: Make sure insulin, ice packs, and any gel packs are pre-chilled to 31°F or lower (but do not freeze insulin). Pack smartly: Place insulin (sealed in a waterproof, insulated pouch) in the center or top layer of the cooler. Surround it with cold packs or ice. Place a towel or cloth over the ice to help trap cold air. Best method – Dry ice combo: Place 20+ lbs of dry ice, wrapped in paper, at the bottom. Add a layer of cardboard. Place cold packs and insulin on top, then more cold packs and a towel. Caution: Don’t use a fully sealed cooler—dry ice turns into CO₂ gas, which must be allowed to vent. Never use in a confined space. With proper packing, insulin that starts at 31°F can stay within a safe temperature range (typically 36°F to 46°F) for 3–5 days, possibly longer if dry ice and minimal cooler access are maintained. No drain. It has wheels but is so cheap it's very hard to actually pull it (and it's short) it did however work great for a last minute need we had (ordered online for pick up) so it's fine, but if you need a serious cooler- this isn't it.

TRASH! In the 7 hours it took us to get to the campsite (with the cooler in the SUV), all the ice had melted; we just had cold-ish water left. Refilled it and all the ice was gone within hours again. Does nothing to keep things cold for any period of time- I could have saved the money and used a cardboard box with the same result.

HOW is it possible that in 2025 IGLOO is putting out a cooler without a drainhole??? . seems impossible - but THIS COOLER HAS NO DRAINHOLE!!! . filled with ice drinks and other items - if you need to move it - IT IS HEAVY . want to put it in & out of your car? . it’s awkward & takes adjustments to fit behind the front seats . in my toyota highlander - i have to lift it way up over the folded down 2nd row seats to put it in from top & take it out the same way . SUPER INCONVENIENT . when it’s time to drain - lift the heavy cooler up & out but can’t drain - need to dump the entire cooler

This is a sturdy medium-sized cooler ideal for picnicking and light usage for a family or small group. It has a convenient hinged drop-down handle and two large plastic back wheels which allows one to tow the cooler around. I did a precursory test on the quality of the cooler and found the materials used to be good enough for casual non-heavy duty usage. It's not as sturdy as expected but would perform its function for personal use. The cooler body is entirely plastic and the wheels are also plastic. They don't turn the most smoothly and I can foresee some difficulty in getting those wheels to perform when towing a heavily filled container. The handle is not a telescopic handle but rather a plastic flip-up handle that drops back down when not in use. This doesn't allow for customization of the handle height for taller people. The inside of the cooler is spacious which is a huge plus and can fit more than enough beverages and cold items for a family of four and more. However, I noticed that the interior of the cooler doesn't have an entirely flat surface and is curved to the shape of the wheel. This makes maximizing the cooler space awkward and slightly inconvenient when trying to stack ice packs. Overall, this cooler is ideal for small families or personal light use. It's not the sturdiest build nor made of the best materials, but it meets expectations when it comes to price range and function.

I love Igloo-brand coolers. Every one I’ve owned has been durable and lasted for years. This pretty lilac cooler is perfect for a day by the pool or a trip to the beach. The plastic handle won’t rust, and the large wheels make it easy to pull across a sandy beach. If there was one thing I would change, I would add a drain hole so it’s easy to drain the melted ice without dumping any cans that are still in the cooler.

This super cute Igloo cooler is a great size for an afternoon out. It's plenty large enough to hold several drinks, food and snacks, and more. The handle and wheels make it easy to pull with you and travel with. It's not huge and not small - I found it to be a great size for our needs.
