In This Library is a rhythmic, joyful ode to libraries, the places we feel the most empowered, creative, and safe--perfect for fans of School's First Day of School and All the Books.
Libraries are magic--they're dynamic spaces of discovery that help us explore how the world works. Libraries are welcoming--they open their doors, books, and programs to every human being. Libraries are inspiring--they shower us with opportunities, from language learning to 3D printing to movies and magic shows. And most importantly, libraries are home--they bond people and their communities through sharing, support, and lifelong learning. This rhythmic, joyful tale celebrates the place we feel the most empowered, creative, and safe--the library! Paired with warm, lively art by Kelly Wu, In This Library is a lyrical "thank you" to the libraries that provide us with a place of belonging and endless imagination.About the Author
April Jones Prince is the author of many books for young readers, including the award-winning Twenty-One Elephants and Still Standing, Goldenlocks and the Three Pirates, and two biographies in Penguin's popular Who Was...? series. She is also an editor/agent at Studio Goodwin Sturges and part-time faculty at Rhode Island School of Design, where she co-teachers a picture book course for undergraduates. Through her books, teaching, and author visits, she works to inspire and champion writers of all ages.
Kelly Wu is a Taiwanese-American author/illustrator and artist in publishing and animation. Her debut book, Wonderful Goodbyes, is a tender and moving celebration of loss and everlasting love. She grew up in the bustling city of Kaohsiung, Taiwan, before moving to rural New York, and has lived in seven cities thus far. Her work delights the intersection of nature and urban worlds, exploring relationships between identities and culture, and finding beauty in the mundane.
