Q: If I didn't install the middle shelf, what would be the clear distance between the top of the bottom shelf and the rail supporting the top shelf? I want to know if I can fit a 15.5" computer tower on the bottom shelf.

Although the description says "Unfinished", I missed that part and just went by the picture. The picture shows a brushed white finish which is matching to the writing desk I purchased a few months back. The real product is clearly not a white finish - it is completely unfinished. Why put a picture of a finished product for an unfinished product? I will be very careful in purchasing anything else from the website.

Well made and sturdy - easy to assemble. Made of real wood and didn't need much sanding. Not sure what the wood is but I bought a printer table and a computer table. I wanted to stain them dark to match with other furniture in my study. I used a true wood stain the first time but it didn't get really dark after 4 coats and the finish was somewhat blotchy. I used a dark walnut Danish oil on the second piece and again didn't get a dark finish or an even coat. I've always had good results with Danish oil and was surprised that this wood didn't absorb to oil evenly. I must research the woods of Vietnam. At first glance, I thought it was poplar. I will keep trying with a gel stain. I'm sure the wood would take paint well.
