The lids snap on securely and aren't so big that you can't pack them full and still be able to lift them on and off of your highest shelf. Personally I use one each year to keep all of my receipts, important papers and tax documents. Then I go through them at the end of the year and only keep what I need, do my taxes, label the bin with the year, and stack it with the previous years' documents. These are perfect for my system.

They are a good size for most anything from magazines to shoes, to boxes of food. They each have a clear lid so you can see inside the container from any direction. When not using them they also stack inside of each other easily with the lids sitting on top.

The plastic is thick and sturdy, the lid snaps on easily it also grips firmly on the bin. It's good quality plastic so it won't crack so easily. I'm definitely going to get another one of these storage bins, it's very good quality.

They are clear so it is easy for me to find what I am looking for when it's time to start something new. The caps seal shut very well. The plastic is pretty thick but I wouldn't put anything heavy in them. I did try stacking them and I had no problems with that.
