The JADENS PD-A4 Portable Thermal Printer is an ink-free thermal printer, which means you MUST use thermal paper. It is not compatible with regular copy paper. 🛑 Why You Must Use Thermal Paper Ink-Free Technology: The printer has no ink, toner, or ribbon cartridges. It creates the image by applying heat to the paper. Thermal Paper Coating: Thermal paper is specially coated with a chemical layer that turns black when exposed to heat from the printer's print head. Regular copy paper does not have this coating, so the printer would pass heat across it, but nothing would appear. Manufacturer Confirmation: JADENS and retailers explicitly state, "This printer uses thermal paper and does not support regular copy paper." Q: What sort of paper is needed?
A: Hello, it works with most direct thermal paper, but recommend using the JADENS thermal paper to ensure the printing quality. You can find it by searching “JADENS thermal paper” on bestbuy.com.
