JBL PartyBox On-the-Go Portable Party Speaker with Built-In Lights and Wireless Mic - Black

I do enjoy the speaker however the battery life is poor. We bought this exclusively to take camping and the maximum time we get is 2 1/2 hours of playtime. Really unfortunate considering the price.

The speaker have good sound and the microphone works great.

Missing items. Did not come with the carrying strap for some odd reason.

I love this speaker. We bought it for events at work. I've been testing it at home and it is SO SIMPLE to use. It BUMPS and I believe has adequate sound qualities to work for music/event facilitators/and even professional speakers at events.

Bad design for JBL PARTYBOX ON-THE-GO ESSENTIAL due to it used usb A port. No one is out there to use speaker battery to charge cellphone. Most of buyers do have power bank for cellphone backup. USB A should replace with usb c in/out instead of useless usb A port. I will wait for new release karaoke speaker with usb c in/ out.

Sounds great butt! Can’t connect to other JBL speakers other than other Partybox OTG. Sad cause I have other speakers that it can’t connect to. Spend more money or pass on this one.

Without a doubt worth every penny spent on it. Didn’t expect it to be as good of a product it turned out to be. This model has its disadvantages for some unspoken reason where at least mine will drain its battery for no reason if you go from regular frequency to “Bass Boosted” & back to regular frequency. I don’t know if this is a flaw in its system or I got a faulty unit. Nonetheless it absolutely jams when I play my music at max capacity & with Bass Boosted activated. Would definitely recommend this product to anyone who enjoys listening to music at a high rate of decibels & quality of sound especially from a reliable manufacturer like JBL.

Amazing!! Very happy I purchased this karaoke machine with wireless microphone. The best karaoke and microphone I have ever owned. We sang for 5 hours with Bluetooth speaker and its still going. I loved it so much. You won't regret buying this karaoke machine! I can sing everyday now. My voice sounds amazing with these microphone! Thanks

I purchased the on the go essential to go with my other two party boxes 120. They pair without any issues but have learned after buying that it will not work with the JBL Party Box App. Very disappointed. The reason it is called “on the go” is that it is very light and portable. Why would this not be included in the app? Very poor that JBL does not include this speaker in there Party Box Collection even though they market it as a Party Box. WHY????????????????? What a miss???????????????? Hoping that they will add the on the go to the app soon.

This is the best gift I’ve ever given anyone. Never have I seen something bring so many people so much joy. Nonstop fun. Amazing quality.

Overall a great product for parties and events at home, the only drawback I see is that it's really big to take it anywhere.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall Quality & Feel & Important Features: As any other JBL product, the built quality of this speaker is outstanding. Every detail was thought thoroughly and it’s the perfect speaker for a gathering. It is important to note that the tuning knobs on top of the speaker are for the wireless microphone and not for the speaker itself. That was a feature I noticed afterwards. Moving along, the fine adjustment knobs work great, they add value to the experience, and it makes singing/karaoke more enjoyable. As it allows customization to each performer, it makes you want to grab the microphone and become a part of the action. The narrow long gap/indent in front of the speaker also serves a holder purpose for the mobile devices. Lyrics or different visuals can be presented at an easy-to-view angle thanks to that design. Personally, if I am going on a picnic, a little backyard party, or a small city gathering, I would rather have this speaker than a regular JBL Partybox or Boombox. They sound very similar to each other, but the addition of the microphone makes a huge difference. ____________ The lights work very well and although they are not as customizable as a JBL Pulse speaker, there is a lighting setting for everyone. From a white strobe lighting to smooth and vibrant hue changes, they are pleasant to watch. The lights are responsive to audio as well, they get thicker or move quicker once a louder note is played which is awesome. They are fully synchronized with the music and the input from the microphone. ____________ The microphone performs with no delay and the knobs help tremendously to achieve the right vocal setting. The two little microphone holders on the side of the speaker are a great touch and very useful. The strap and the strap holders are very sturdy, I can see myself having it on my shoulder for long periods of time with no discomfort. The other wired microphone and guitar inputs are a very classy touch as well. I cannot try the guitar input as I do not own one, however, based on my experience, the sound will be similar to what it is with the microphone. Therefore, I could see guitar players utilizing this feature often. ____________ On-speaker controls and buttons are designed nicely with proper indicators. They are smooth to the touch and to twist. Meanwhile the buttons that are meant to be pressed are quite stiff (in a positive way) and they give good responses. The “Bass Boost”, power on/off, and Bluetooth buttons all light up which is great. However, it would have been great to have the light show button actually light up as well. As it is a main feature of the product and mostly used at night, it would make sense to have it light up. Additionally, since there are already five knobs on the speaker, it would have been better to have a knob for volume as well. My mind kept searching for a wheel to twist to adjust the volume after twisting the eq knobs but then I had to settle for flat volume control buttons. Overall, all the controls someone would need are all located on the speaker. Many changes could be made directly on the speaker without the need of a mobile device. In addition, the back of the speaker has an input for the power cable, aux, and a USB Type-A to charge mobile devices. Most of us need extra juice when partying or after a long day so that is a useful add-on. ____________ Audio Quality: The speaker is equipped with the signature JBL Pro Sound blasting 100 watts of power. It is very powerful both inside and outside. The audio is pretty much the same as a regular JBL Partybox, this version just comes with the microphone. There is no significant sound distortion either. The tunes get slightly flat as the speaker reaches maximum values but it’s very minimal and barely noticeable to everyday users – not a dealbreaker at all. The highs and mids are very crisp and defined, while the lows are punchy. The lows are incredible as there are two “Bass Boost” options via the button on the speaker. They make a recognizable difference and truly enhance the quality of the output. Especially in genres that include prominent lows such as dance music/electro pop and rap. ____________ Overall, this is a very solid speaker with a powerful output and quality features. It’s well-made with extra attention to detail.

The lights and bass boost both create an amazing atmosphere. The lights are fun and have multiple different options. The bass boost really makes a difference in the music and definitely changes the party. One negative was how difficult it was to get the microphone to connect initially. The quick start guide didn’t offer any clear instructions on how to make it connect but after trying different things I was able to make it connect by turning the mic volume knob all the way off and then back on. Once it was connected I have been able to turn the mic off and back on and it connects seamlessly. The battery life is pretty good considering the range of options available on this speaker. I also love the handles and carry strap that comes with it. Lastly I do love that it’s splash resistant in case anything accidentally spills!
