Q: Online it says these have ear detection but when I take one or both of them out of my ears my music does not pause it just keeps playing how do I turn on ear detection?

submitted by This product sucks - 9 days ago
  • A: Hi, thanks for reaching out about JBL Tune Flex 2 The JBL Tune Flex 2 earbuds automatically enable ear detection. There's no manual setting to turn it on or off. Ear detection, which pauses and plays music when the earbuds are taken in and out of your ears, is a built-in feature on the Tune Flex 2. To ensure the feature works correctly, make sure: Bluetooth is connected: The earbuds need to be connected to your device via Bluetooth for ear detection to function. Proper fit: Ensure the earbuds fit snugly in your ears. If they are loose, the sensors might not detect when they are in or out correctly. Clean ear tips: Earwax buildup can interfere with the sensors. Regularly clean your ears and the ear tips. If you're experiencing issues with ear detection, try the following: Reconnect: Disconnect and reconnect the earbuds to your device. Check for updates: Ensure your JBL Headphones app and the earbuds' firmware are up to date. Reset: If the issue persists, you can try resetting the earbuds to factory settings. If you have any additional questions, we welcome you to contact MyTGTtech at 833-848-8324 every day, between 7am-11pm CST.

Great Batteries 🔋 life

Great sound and battery life for the price! I’ve been using the JBL Tune Beam 2 earbuds for a couple of weeks now, and I’m genuinely impressed. The sound quality is clear and balanced, with just the right amount of bass—not too overpowering, but enough to enjoy music fully. But they don’t stay put in my ears they always fall off if I’m not careful, One thing I really love is the battery life. I can go days without needing to recharge the case, which is super convenient. The noise cancellation is decent, especially for this price range. It won’t block out everything, but it definitely helps when I’m in a noisy café or commuting. The controls are easy to use, and pairing with my phone was quick and hassle-free. Also, the design looks sleek and modern. Overall, for the price, I think these earbuds are a great buy. If you want reliable wireless earbuds without spending a fortune, the Tune Beam 2 is definitely worth considering.

I bought the JBL Tune Flex 2 in turquoise a few weeks ago and overall, it’s a decent pair of earphones. I really like the colour, and it’s light and portable—great for on-the-go use. It also comes with various sizes of ear tips, which is helpful for comfort and fit. One of the main reasons I chose this model was its advertised “6 mics for perfect calls and customized call experience” feature. Unfortunately, this was a letdown. During calls, I’ve received several complaints from others saying the audio on my end was noisy and unclear. I’ve used earphones from other well-known brands, and while the JBL Tune Flex 2 is reasonably priced, I was a bit disappointed with the microphone quality. It’s still a decent product overall, but don't expect high quality audio.

I love them. Sound quality is great. Only complaint is they don't get overly loud but that might be my hearing in general but I doubt it. You can't get overly far away from your device or they start to lose connection too.

I have had 2 seperate pairs of these ear buds over the past 8 months randomly unpair the headphones. For those that don't know, these types of earbuds work off of a master/slave system where one earbud, the master, pairs with the case and the slave earbud pairs with the master earbud. When the slave unpairs from the master, there is no way for the end user to restore this connection. JBL won't be getting any more of my money.

Thanks for your feedback. If your earbuds disconnect from each other, try tapping both earbuds three times simultaneously and then placing them in the case. You can also reset them by tapping either side three times and holding the third tap for over five seconds, then re-pair. Remember to forget or unpair them from your device first. If you need further help, please contact us at (800) 336-4525. We're available Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 11:00 pm (ET), and Saturday to Sunday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (ET).

Thanks for your feedback. Our JBL Tune Flex 2 comes with 3 sizes of sealing eartips. To achieve the best seal and secure fit, you must create a tight seal within your ear canal. To do this, angle the ear tip slightly downward to make it easier to insert into your ear canal, gently twist the earbud to fit it securely into the shape of your ear, and continue twisting the earbud into your ear canal. We also recommend using the Check My Best Fit feature on our JBL Headphones App. This will help you determine if you are using the correct ear tip size and the positioning within the ear canal.

Amazing!! These headphones can do just about everything, if not more, than Apple AirPods. The amount of sound options offered through the app and noise cancelling capabilities is absolutely insane. They are also very cool looking!

Got these a few weeks ago to replace an older in-ear set. Hard time trying to find what I am comfortable with that is not earbuds into the ear canal and not the over-ear sets. Sound quality is great but finding the right setting on the app to adjust between music and audiobooks easily is a pain, for now I hope. Have not tried the option of noise cancelling as this requires changing the rubber tips to be in-ear, so likely to stick with what I know and prefer fro comfort.

I got these a couple of weeks ago. I'm not use to having the little stick hanging out my ear, but other than that these thing ROCK! The bass is what you would expect from your kid's car. I listen to rock, country, little tractor rap...pretty much anything but classical. These make all sound great and loud!!

This is not what we'd like you to experience with your JBL Tune Flex 2. Try using different ear tips to achieve a snug fit in your ear. Adjust the ear tip angle slightly downward for easier insertion into the ear canal, gently twist the earbud to fit it securely to the shape of your ear, and continue twisting it into your ear canal. If the issue persists, please contact our customer support for additional assistance.

A Definitive Upgrade

Virtually everything good about the Tune Flex 1 has been retained and the flaws have been greatly improved. Connection points on the buds are easier to keep clean, the earpieces have rubber mesh to keep the actual screens on the speakers cleaner, and the size of the part that sticks out of the ear has been slightly reduced. I also LOVE the multi-device connection. It makes swapping between listening to my phone or my laptop beyond easy, thoughtless even! highly recommend the upgrade if you enjoyed the Tune Flex 1, or if you want quality sound and device fluidity.

Battery is food. I hear extra noise, interference during conversations, sometimes the other person can't hear me or they hear sounds that are very far from me very loudly and all this happens with the advanced settings mode turned off and with the modes in the JBL app turned on. I am more disappointed than happy

I bought these a couple months back. They have never been able to noise cancel. No matter if I try the app or the ear bud itself it will not noise cancel. Also the last couple days on the jobsite when ever there is contact between metal they get static. Drilling or even when my plier handles make contact. Would not recommend.
1 reply from Customer Support team - 3 months ago
Thanks for your feedback. Our JBL Tune Flex 2 offers two ear tip sound modes, you can use open tips to stay aware of your surroundings or switch to sealing tips (in three sizes) for a snug fit and better passive noise cancelling. As for the static issue, you can try to reset it to isolate the problem. To reset, with both earbuds on and not charging, tap two times and hold the button on the third tap for more than 5 seconds. You may need to 'forget' the headphones in Bluetooth settings on your phone/tablet in order to pair it again. For further assistance, please contact us.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was eager to try the JBL Tune Flex 2 earphones because I work from home and frequently join virtual meetings online and my previous earphones were problematic when using with my meeting apps. So I was hoping that these JBL Tune Flex 2's could replace my standard laptop earphones AND work well for my virtual meetings, with good audio quality, noise cancelation and mute controls. The JBL Tune Flex 2's definitely delivered, and exceeded my expectations. My personal experience with them was smooth from the start — I paired them with my laptop in seconds. As soon as I opened the charging case, the lights on the earphones began flashing and broadcasting the bluetooth signal allowing it to be detectable on my laptop. I expected good audio quality with good bass and decent noise cancellation, and in reality, they exceeded that. The sound quality had clean highs, and a deep, discernable bass that was not overbearing. It felt loud in my ears but when I removed them no one outside could hear anything, which was perfect. It felt like an immersive experience. I did a few test calls and meetings, and the feedback from the other end was great - they said my audio came in loud and clear to them and they didn't have any problems hearing me. Touching the ear buds allows it to toggle from noise cancelation mode, to ambient sounds mode. The feedback I've received from other callers on meetings say that they don't hear any background noise so this indicates to me that the feature is working. I'll continue to use it for work as it's convenient and does what I need, and includes mute controls. One standout feature is how lightweight they are, making them perfect for travel, and I also love the sleek black design. The design feels sturdy and well-made, and I appreciated the flashing lights used to convey the different states. For me, these earphones added convenience with easy touch controls giving me more flexibility during meetings and calls. They’ve also helped me focus better by tuning out distractions. My honest verdict? The JBL Tune Flex 2 earphones are a solid contender in the portable ear buds arena. They’d be perfect for any listener who appreciates high quality audio that JBL is known for and wants something better than standard wireless earphones. There are convenient ear fitting attachments included to help make sure you have a snug fit, and includes a nice little holding case. One thing I had to get used to was avoiding accidentally touching the ear piece as it would change the modes on each touch. For others considering these, I’d say give them a try.

Love these earbuds overall

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was thoroughly impressed with the JBL Tune Flex 2’s packaging. Everything was incredibly easy to unpack. I’ve been using these earbuds for a while now, and I’m genuinely impressed. I particularly loved how intuitive the touch controls on the earpieces were. I didn’t even need to read the instructions, and I hadn’t even opened the app yet, but I quickly got the hang of them. It was incredibly easy to learn by simply tapping on them. Eventually, I ventured over to the app, and I was delighted by how user-friendly and customizable the Tune Flex earbuds are. The app offers a wide range of options, and I have nothing negative to say about it. The case is compact and convenient, but I’m a bit concerned about dropping it, so I might consider using a silicone case to protect it. Taking the earbuds in and out was a bit challenging at times due to my large, chubby fingers. Occasionally, it became a bit of a hassle. The earbuds themselves feel comfortable and durable. They were a perfect fit right out of the box. I tried the different tips, but they fit exactly as they came. In terms of sound quality, I thought they were quite decent. However, I wish they were a bit louder and had better overall sound. But considering the value for money, I have no complaints. Moving on to the case, I must say, it’s exceptionally well-designed. I appreciate all the little details they’ve incorporated into it. One thing I particularly enjoyed was listening to my podcast while taking walks or doing other activities. The vocals and voices sounded incredibly clear and immersive. However, I wish the sound could be more customizable. Overall, I’m pleased with this product from JBL. I’m glad I have these earbuds in my possession.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These earbuds are really good. The cancellation of the outside noise is incredible. The sound quality is great too. The only thing I didn’t like is how they feel in my ears. Although they fit, I don’t find them too comfortable. It could be me, since my brother said they’re comfortable. Other than that, I have no complaints. JBL rarely disappoints me
